I've been out of the loop for awhile now, but still thinking about picking this up. Is it necessary to grab the annual pass now? Or can i just grab the $40 version and be up to date as long as I have the other two expansions?

You can buy Forsaken only since you have CoO and Warmind
You save $5 upfront by getting Forsaken + Annual Pass ($69.99) vs seperate (39.99 + 34.99)

I bumped up a couple light levels last night, but upgrading now seems to take a shit ton more resources than it used to. What's up with that?

infusions going to cost more now. I woudlnt waste any materials until new content drops. When it does blues are going to drop at higher levels then your current purples.

Dumb question for my son who plays this: Can you buy Forsaken separately? He plays on the Xbox and it appears the only thing you can preorder it but it includes the entire regular game which he already has. Can't seem to find just Forsaken separately and the only two things are crazy pricey for just new DLC.

It still says "coming soon" (or 'redeem a code') on the Microsoft Store. It'll be $40. He'll need to have both existing expansions to get Forsaken this way.

As is typical, I'm hearing about major problems with the servers, as they're getting hammered.
Should probably be worse after work. Doesn't matter, I won't be able to play until tomorrow night anyways.

Ouch. They've upped the infusion requirements AND planetary material rewards from chests and public events have been reduced by 50%.

Heads up if you share an xbox with someone else in your household (spouse, child, etc), unlike CoO, and Warming, it looks like Forsaken is locked to the account of the purchaser. So keep that in mind if you have more than one person that plays the game. Just found out the hard way.

Nevermind, ignore this. Hard reset of the xbox fixed the problem. All is well, looking forward to trying this out tonight.

story is great

Nolan North proves once again why he is such a great voice actor

bow is a blast to use

random rolls are fantastic and will bring longevity back to the loot grind

soft cap (500) is pretty easy to hit .... started at over 385 yesterday and hit 491 when I decided to call it a day

new enemies are great as are the new abilities (though I have many more to unlock and try)

lots left to still do ... hunt remaining barons, Gambit, PvP, strikes, raid when released

The Taken King DLC was a big moment for this franchise .... from what I've already played in a short amount of time, this betters it

I'm in the Daggers clan too - I'm just never playing at the same time as y'all (also don't have a head-set to chat).

I have a handful of older guns & gear (a couple yellows and a couple purples) that I really like - is it worth infusing those, or should I just stick to the new gear that drops?

well the cost for infusing is more (as you know) to keep you from easily infusing everything

I haven't infused anything and I'm sitting on a stockpile of mats/consumables

I will tell you this, exotics are without a doubt rarer drops than ever ... didn't have a single one drop in all my hours of play yesterday
I'm fine with that change by the way ... makes them more special (or exotic if you will) when you get one

Only started the story before dropping out to play Gambit. I didn’t know what was happening, but I guess North replaces Fillion for Cade backstory voice? If so it’s terrible.

Gambit is a lot of fun. Great mixture of PvE and some PvP. Could use a hair more PvP but I guess the more scores are a bit similar to total kills - just enemy not another team.

Haven’t had a chance to try out any new gear or supers.

As usual though, Bungie completely changes the game interface, GUI, and weapon system without any instruction to players. Frankly terrible and makes me consider stopping when/if D3 roles around.

I played for about an hour yesterday - just tooling around with flashpoints and challenges (should start story tonight, maybe), and right off the bat, I got an armor at 503 light (my personal light starting off was 370), so naturally I dismantled and infused it into the Exotic I've been wearing, not paying attention to it's level requirement (43), making my go-to armor unusable for 13 levels I feel so stupid. Oh well. I did jump up 3 levels in under an hour without even touching the campaign, so shouldn't take too long.
