Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
the subsequent quests add to the length
didn't get to play a ton last night but the general updates and activities that came with the Season 3 update are a positive
if you aren't already invested I don't think this moves the bar too much like Sept will

You would spend close to $50 for the game and both expansions. Or wait until September and assume they will put out another package with that expansion and everything else for $60 like they did with Taken King.

These Sleeper Nodes are really starting to aggravate me sitting at 28/40 and the last 10 I've gotten have been duplicates.

They have ruined Destiny and have no way to fix it. I wasted $100 on a poor game that rewards with tokes and has no story, repetitive items and total lack of content. Then I got to wait for two very forgettable DLC's that should have been free.
Never again.

I enjoyed the main game while it lasted, which is more than I can say for most $60 games, but I agree the DLC has been crap. I'll probably be out for the remaining DLC packs unless shit really picks up, because I kinda feel ripped off.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
Gotta say, Forsaken is looking a little ambitious. I mean a lot of it falls into the category of "should have been in the game already" but there's a lot of stuff here that I wasn't expecting. Looks like maybe every subclass will have a new version of their super. Equip weapons in whatever slot you want, so 3 shotguns or rockets...interesting.
Not sure about this whole annual pass thing they're starting, since the pricing isn't revealed as of yet for anything. I'm guessing it'll be 40 for Forsaken and maybe 30 for the pass. Maybe 20 if we're lucky.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
Just watched the video and these are my honest thoughts.
Giving back what was taken away is too little too late.
Notice how there is no discussion about story. A tired and overused "prison break"? Nope.
Lots of weapons but so what if they suck and are not random rolls with random perks?
Over 2000? items with no vault space? Clueless.
I am the guardian that saved everything in D2, now I get a title? Laughable.
Still no mention of the Vanguard and their lost story. Guess the farm will remain abandoned.
Really, all this talk about emotes? Is that why people play?
Guess tokens are here to stay and I am not playing for tokens again.
PvP at its core will still only appeal to certain players no matter what they change. Being able to taunt people just reaffirms my belief that this is the only reason to play PvP.
They admit they may have gone overboard, so be prepared for massive and relentless nerfs.
The effects look nice and the people working on this seem sincere however, after the first $100 I wasted this is a hard pass for me. Another $80 for this?
Not a chance.
I see nothing here that will change the tone of the game or give me a reason to play. For those that want to press on, best of luck with Bungie's nerfs, mistakes and apologies that are never really issued.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1
I haven’t posted in a long time. I do play semi-regularly although mostly with friends and solo on the weekends; usually just PVP. You all already covered all of the issues with D2 but there are a few that just continues the stump us:
1) why did they bother introducing the farm if they were just going to send everybody back to the tower
2) The story and pace were a big missed opportunity.
They should’ve taken the core game that was D2 and it had that cover the entire first year. Each expansion would’ve been a quest to go find the missing trio. Defeat a core henchman for he big Red Legion leader. They could’ve drawn out getting back your sparrow and finding other ways to get around planets. It would also cause people to go explore and find hidden things (...that they I didn’t actually put in the game...).
Probably the most puzzling thing, as you all of mentioned, a lot of the items that they are now looking to introduced are actually items that they removed after D1. I know they were working on D2 before D1 finished but it doesn’t make any sense from a development standpoint that they went backwards and removed all the content they worked so hard to add in.
I think I’ll be very interesting when the game finally comes to a conclusion if we’ll be able to find out what really happened behind the scenes over the years in terms of original vision for the game, plus what happened along the development path after it was actually launched.
As for this latest expansion, it looks interesting and the new mixture of PVP with PVE could be really fun. That said I’m not sure how the pricing is supposed to work and $70 seems like a lot since it’s a game built upon a game and not an entirely new game by itself.

not quite sure how the Farm is a confusing point
they clearly needed a social space to exist leading up to that point .... the Farm served that purpose
what greater explanation is needed?

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
I haven't played in I don't when but still get the messages when The Daggers are trying to get a group or mention the rewards....Here and there I still read the main forums or some review(s) just to see. I do miss the game, the play, sights and all....but as now an outsider looking in, I get the feeling and impression that Destiny 2 has become a slow large Merry-Go-Round of patchwork, quick fixes, more of the same, re-hash of add-ons & DLC targeting RAIDS, Nightfalls and Crucible while ignoring what it should be with story driven narratives around characters & Guardians which they have forgotten.
For the life of me with a vast Universe they somehow can manage to find different foes and enemies here & there but still cannot find but "Three Guardians"? And why not some backstories on the main central Vanguards....how they came to be, life, history? Even go back to say Mara Queen of the Awoken or maybe even Variks and how he came to be where he was (House of Wolves).
It just seems such a waste with so much opportunities with a vast universe, characters and factions at your disposal only to focus on more exotics, more weapons, more armor, more emotes, more colors, more green, blues, purples and gold this & that's where the roll of the dice is as promising of hitting the Million $$$ Jackpot.......the only shocker I'm surprised hasn't dropped is "Battle Royal Mode"....
I wish the Daggers the best because they've stuck thru it thick & then but the next big leap by Bungie might test even the best of destiny supporters. The response on the official forums hasn't exactly been popping the champagne and of celebration...more like the Pitchforks & Torches. The September release is no consequence with October having Red Dead, Battlefield V and new COD game but with E3 right around the corner more will be announced. Bungie knows this and are trying to get their plans out first.....only time will tell if this will retain or drive players away....

I don’t think it’s confuisng why it was there. It’s confusing why they went away from it. At least remove it from available places after you beat the campaign. Doesn’t make sense to keep if they expect you to go to tower.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
regardless, I see no reason why they would have any need to remove it for players that finish the campaign when it still needs to exist for those who haven't
don't know why this is even an issue ... but hey at least it served for a alternative landing spot when my instances into the Tower would result in the black screen of nothingness

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
It is not confusing, it is a symptom of larger ineptitude by Bungie.
Bungie promoted this space as a social area. Made sense and would have been nice to have a reason to exist other than a few levels of a forgettable campaign.
We should have been able to walk/ride to the Traveler from there. We should have had an alternative to the boring, sterile, tired Tower.
But when the entire effort is largely a disappointment, you are right the Farm is the least of the problems that surround this sad game.
