Here's an article with a bunch of exotics coming with the new DLC, including several returnees from D1:
https://www.theverge.com/2018/4/24/1...pon-armor-list
Only 2 weapons listed, but one would figure there would have to be a few more. Some of the returning ones could be very good if they return with their original perks, including one that was useless in D1 that now could be solid in D2.
I watched the stream, and it was good to hear that the Mars map is much larger than Mercury and you can use your sparrow.

some nice looking new exotics ... just have to see what the perks are
miss the grasps paired with Monte Carlo
I'm sure there are other exotic weapons nor revealed, probably tied to quests (secret or otherwise)

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
I was listening to a few of the guys on Twitch today that were at the Summit. My takeaway is that that the Warmind DLC is just more D2 and that the "hobby" will be back in the fall. I'm fine with that since the summer is usually my down time for games anyway. The new public event horde mode, new exotics and horde weapons, exotic buffs/masterworks, etc. should at least keep me busier than the last DLC did.
I'd love to hear the story eventually of how D2 was such a massive step backwards after the strides that were made in D1. All they had to do was continue the story with the systems we already had in place. Seems pretty easy to me, yet they completely whiffed.
As for the fall I'm hoping for stuff to grind and a good reason to grind it. I'm also hoping the next Raid is a return to the "Raiding" that we grew accustomed to. Even though Crota was short, I think all D1 Raids were much more enjoyable than Leviathan.

^ I was starting a fairly lengthy response to the above but just deleted it
D2 will continue to be my go to game
Even with the excitement of GOW coming out last week, I find myself, with absolutely nothing of worth to chase, having a greater desire to play D2 when in the past I would have been 100% engaged in GOW till the end
The best part of D1 was never about grinding for loot, it was about the comradery of hanging out, shooting shit, working together as a team for a goal, laughing, getting drunk, and the pure escapism from the true grind of everyday life
D2 has its issues (in its effort to differenciate itself from D1) but I think it has just become fashionable to shit on the game as worthless when there is still plenty good about it (and it is only continuing to evolve and get better)
so again, I'll be around running stuff solo (mainly PvP) but always welcome getting back together as a group for the same reasons stated above ....
Chase, Scott, and I ran the nightfall probably double digit times the week before last ... and while we may have been trying to get the NF exclusive hand cannon (which none of us got), I don't think any of us would consider it to have been wasted time
would like to help those through the first raid that haven't done it ... would like to complete the raid lair as a group .... looking forward to the new raid lair .... and always enjoy hanging out in the Crucible (probably more with upcoming rank)

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
Just my two cents, but I feel like this is a pretty crappy move on their part. The last expansion felt really hollow and I don't have much hope for this next one either. It feels like they are just holding stuff back for the next paid expansion since they already have people's money. And no new raid after two expansions is just ridiculous.

^ your 2 cents don't add up as there was a new raid with COO in the raid lair (Argos) and there will be the same with Warmind
if you want to argue a raid lair is not a raid, that would be a seperate conversation and a quite silly one IMO
as for the new mode, there is a difference between holding stuff back and game development (and innovation) takes a long time

Yeah, I don't care about adding a new section on an existing lair. I would rather have a completely new experience. Even though Crota wasn't as good as VOG, at least it was still different and got people to play week after week. I can't say the same with this one.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
Skillz, out of curiosity, how many times have you run the raid lair? 0?
If I'm not mistaken you have only even run The Leviathan once, correct?
just because it (Eater of Worlds) takes place on the Leviathan, it is as much of a new section/experience as the planet Venus was to the Moon in D1
and if you truly want to argue lack of raids in D2 v D1 you will be doing so by having to explain why Expansion 2 in D1 (House of Wolves) had no raid only Prision of Elders
In D2 we have had the Leviathan raid, Eater of Worlds raid lair with COO, will be getting the Spire of Stars raid lair with Warmind as well as Ecalation Protocol which in itself could easily be considered an equal to POE

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
Yeah, I only ran Leviathan once with you guys. We could never seem to get a full group to run the other one (again, an issue we never seemed to have with D1).
I guess I just feel like they are running the game into the ground without trying to fix it. If you want more people to come back and play your game, the answer isn't to find a way to squeeze more money out of them. Some of this should be provided through free updates and stuff, especially new modes. Do you really want to have a split player base a year into the launch of a multiyear game like this? If people leave unsatisfied after the first two expansions, you really think they are going to throw more money to come back? That just sounds backwards to me.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)
well since the bar keeps moving, I'll continue
the reason we had difficulty getting a full group for EOW was because a bunch of us ran it when it first released and while we made it to the final stage a number of times we were partially underleveled at the time and didn't have a cohesive strat for defeating the boss. Add on top of that there was little reward other than cosmetic to chase there really wasn't much incentive to play at the frequency we did in the fresh at the time D1 that didn't have those issues.
Now, if you feel "they are running the game into the ground without trying to fix it" then you truly are tuned out. If anything, Bungie are going above and beyond to "right the ship" and bring this back to a hobby type game. They have been continually (slow at first) making positive updates to the game. They flew out a large number of streamers/content creaters/other for a summit to get direct community feedback about the game. They have been heavily present on social media listening and responding to general community feedback in recent months.
The roadmap in TWAB from a few weeks back will show those who are not buying the recent expansions are still getting free access to content such as new crucible maps, seasonal events, and features and updates
https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/46735
As a money driven business they are under no obligation to give that stuff away for free and they aren't going to give away a DLC now that people have already paid for in the vanilla bundle
And to answer your question, "If people leave unsatisfied after the first two expansions, you really think they are going to throw more money to come back? That just sounds backwards to me."
Yes, look no further than The Taken King ... the same will be said come the fall update for D2

I love how I only have a dozen exotic weapons, yet I get two gold engrams today and they are somehow both duplicates. I can't believe how deliberately broken this shit is almost a year after release.

So how's the DLC - won't have a chance to play it for a couple days still - it's not as lame as that fucking Infinite Forest in the last DLC, is it?
