What platform? Did you buy Shadowkeep? The Shadowkeep splash screen displays even if you have not bought the DLC. No 750 is about 200 points too low. Story missions are always the same in your quests, look for the blue icon on the map. What saved game? Do you mean character? Need more info to try and help.

XBOX One, i bought Shadowkeep after this mess. i get into game and it seems like i've played and used this character before but have no idea where to go or what to do. yes, i mean my character save. 200 points too low for what? is it any indication i have played before or is that what you start off with? what other info do you need? sorry if i'm unclear, just unclear about what's going on with game...

OK, let me try and clear up a few things.

First: you can't lose your data on Destiny or D2 unless you delete your characters. All items, progress and stats are saved on Bungie's end, not locally.

Second, back in October with the launch of New Light (the free to play version of D2) and Shadowkeep, Bungie made the decision to raise everyone's level to 750. Right now, you can get up to 1010, not including the bonus light levels you get through XP farming (which is unlimited, but resets every season). Fox example, my level is 1002 through my gear right now, but I also have 19 bonus levels meaning I can get to 1021. So basically your characters were put at the max level just before shadowkeep launched, and are still there.

Here's where it gets confusing. Bungie changed how a new player starts the game with New Light, and they no longer play through the original D2 campaign by default. Instead, they play a remade version of the first mission from the original Destiny before being dropped into D2's current state. If you played D2, but didn't finish the initial campaign, you'd now be like one of these new players. Basically you're ready to dive into Shawdowkeep's campaign.

To start, click on Destinations, and go to the Tower. Talk to the vendors there, some might have quests for you, plus you can check your vault to see what items you may have left in there. After that you can head to the moon, and there should be an icon prompting you to start a mission there.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

So I should play (go to Moon) Shadowkeep first (before D2 single player campaign) and basically I’m starting from scratch in campaign of D2? Is there a single player campaign still and where do I start in D2? What do you mean about current state? Why Shadowkeep first if that was a dlc? And when I played D2 just before I saw same and could go to same planets as I had before. How is that D1?

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

The campaign is still there, but you have to pick it up from Amanda in the tower hangar. She also has the campaigns for curse of osiris and warmind. You don't have to do them, but you can. There's some fun missions there.

But they redesigned the game to make it easier for people to jump in and do the current content. In terms of progression, starting with shadowkeep is far more efficient, even patrols would benefit more than the old campaigns.

By current state, I mean you fly into D2's tower and find the current vendors. In the original D2, the tower didn't come til the end of the story, and The Farm was the social space until then.

Ok. Bottom line it for me. I open Director, go to moon and do Shadowkeep? Or see this Amanda person? Is she on Earth? Then do D2 single player campaign? Thanks guys for this help. I was just confused as shit why game wasn’t same game I remembered playing whenever it came out...

but above mentioned the blue indicators as campaign missions. i see and can go to those. why do i have to go to Amanda when i never did before or even heard of her? thanks for help...

All I want to do is play the single player campaign from beginning to end.

I am sorry I thought you had played this game before

The Tower is at the top of the destination screen labeled The Traveler

i have played before (as described above) at launch, but from what was linked and i read, the Tower wasn't available (before all this new stuff) and therefore no Amanda. so i was going through her for missions. i just played what i thought was campaign missions. so why is she now available and giving out campaign missions?

I've got several friends at work who pretty much have sold their souls to destiny and bungie and will probably keep playing the rest of their lives....I was floored when they told me the current "Level Cap"...1250!!!!....I think last i played it was around 500-550.

They've asked me like countless other times if i ever plan on playing and throw in some enticing parts on what I'm missing. Can't say if they're overwhelming impressed but I get the feeling it's no different than everything else in the past...Pros & Cons, Buff and Nerfs, it's awesome here and terrible there, this weapon is a must and that weapon is trash....but one thing that hasn't changed and they all said it...the grinding is a pain.

Basically around $70 for a year of Seasons....which to me now sounds like we'll never see Destiny 3, just a continue expansion, same three characters, a new Planet here and there and 1-2 gone, new enemies, rehash of old weapons, new coat of paint and the primary focus is all on Raids. I read some reviews and sounded like others before and once again the Campaign/story is way too short, the Public Events, Side stuff is there but not really fulfilling with all the emphasis on RAID and maybe Nightfall along with Strikes. As much as I always liked the combat mechanics, the look and all, it sounds like Destiny 2 today is no different than when Destiny 2 came out September 2017....for me and now I'm looking forward to Outriders

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

I had a small chat with Scott on this and from what he said....pretty much what I read and saw is about right;....The RAID is awesome....Nightfall and Strikes are fun and everything else is ho-hum, just a fill in, and almost useless while the Story is once again way too short.....he even said they took more out than what was put back in....

I did see a small article that I guess Bungie got the message...complaints...that lack of guns, lack of this and that and more rehash of past stuff so they "Promised" more for the following Seasons. That said I saw over at PushSquare.... PS Store Game Awards Sale Has lots of PS5, PS4 Game Deals - Push Square...a new updated list of PS4 game deals that does show Destiny 2: beyond Light is marked down to $39.00 with Season Pass....If so I might bite but for now haven't seen it listed in US Store nor that price.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

After talking to Scott which he suggested just go play some BEFORE buying the Beyond Light Pack...which I'm glad i did because I now see why all the uproar and discontent....as Scott told me, they took far more away than put in and the Planet map alone shows it....compare this 'Beyond Light Map' to what Old Boy has back in April posted above...good grief, what the heck was Bungie thinking.....as I mentioned to Scott, weren't we all told once Activision got out of the way Bungie and Destiny was going to get...BETTER....

I do miss IO and especially Titan, but I seriously could've done without Mercury and Mars.

Not sure how many are still playing, but cross-play is live at the moment by mistake.

Just watched the bungie live stream for the up coming changes and The Witch Queen expansion. Looks freaking great and I believe cross-play will be available today or by the 27th.

I might have to start up again.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

So they're gonna be vaulting even more content, like the Forsaken DLC, which they're still selling! So the tangled shores will no longer be available.

Regardless, after being on this game since day one, I finally quit and deleted the game.

It's mechanics and graphics are still second to none, but everything else just started feeling like a waste of time - so much so, the mechanics and graphics couldn't make up for their deficiencies. In the end, I was putting more into the game than I was getting out of it - and that's where Bungie is fucking up.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

I just started back in it after nearly 8-9 months away...almost swore I never go back and just stick with Warframe that has far, far more going for it than Destiny IMHO.....but still, it's hard to disagree with the Combat/Shooting Mechanics along with the World and Map Design....Last I played was when Beyond Light had been out since late last year and there was some weekend special so after talking to some, they said just play the intro and you'll get a choice to upgrade or not...I did and at the time didn't really se anything that said..."WOW...Destiny has got a lot better"....

Well several friends have got back in to it last two months so past week I jumped in...didn't buy a thing...and actually felt good running just Public Events and Strikes....Fuzzy on the new resources and loot along with you Gear and Character Score. Pretty much most of what I had in storage is useless. I went from 1100 to Soft Cap 1270 but this is where I feel it's too much of a grind and all......this is where I get the feeling that Bungie more or less steers and forces you into certain modes and even Paid DLC if you want to Level Up and play with Friends....only to get the latest great gear that becomes useless in a few months...

...like if I want to do a lot of activities, go places, get bounties from certain vendors or quests...I've got to buy Beyond Light that currently is not on sale despite out for a year and Destiny is in it's last phase of this Season Run with The Witch Queen coming in February that you can buy for $80 with access to the Season 16 thru 19...so basically around $26 for Beyond Light and then another $80 for Witch Queen with no promises from Bungie of more meddling, nerfing, getting rid of planets, places and modes and rehashing past gear since they can't invent new stuff anymore...

...I love the THREE CHARACTERS they have since guess in some huge system they can't find any other Guardians out there...fun to play and all...but Warframe had like Seven Characters Day One on PS4 when it launched...there's like 48 characters now and more importantly All DLC has been FREE....I have 4-5 at work that has been huge Destiny Fans for years but all of them have slowly gone to other games...they got burned out, tired of rehashing, the nerfing or doing away with modes, events, places....but the Grind and Loot Drop Rate that has you forced into RAIDs, PvP and buying Seasons and DLC as the means of getting the Best Gear is almost too much....I'll still play for the time being but I can already sense where this is heading...same as before...

Hello All

I for one should be the last person to bring back and up this topic.....having love the gameplay but Hate The Loot & Resource System, Re-Hash of Past Gear, Nerf mania and adding & taking away places and even worlds....BUT...I must say The Witch Queen looks as though and close to The Taken King which was seriously fun......the days where we had enough for two groups...Group A and B...for Raids was some of the best times. I honestly think The Witch Queen could...maybe...possibly...bring those back. i did my PO last night....looking forward to this one.

A guy was wearing a sick Destiny hoodie at the mall the other day, looked awesome.

I enjoyed the first Destiny but was always so far behind the group and always played catchup. I atopped when i bought the exoansion and then couldnt play because i was so far away leveling up to qualify and I didnt have the time. Still, very fun game.

If one wants to catch up...or try to...the history and stories of all the past expansions....here is a good one. Almost like trying to do a quick read on the History of Middle Earth....

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

So far I've been impressed with The Witch Queen....been maybe a bit more fun in a group/friends but story, added stuff like the New Pole Weapon, maps and areas are a sight to see, some tougher and stronger enemies, a six-person strike that's really fun and even all the armor and cosmetics seem better...

Thanks for letting me back in DoD Clan also...probably should've stayed and never left but good to see alot of familiar names out there. There's still some areas and stuff I need to figure out and ask on...like past content I never did or finish like the Stasis Ability (got for Hunter but playing Warlock now), never messed with the Master work stuff leveling weapons, which or if any past Exotics to pull out, which abilities are stronger and which character, etc....
