Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

Well....this is not your typical Game site criticism here; it's from CNBC on the investment level that goes into far more specifics & numbers about Destiny 2 and the effects related to Activison/Blizzard shares. And their outlook is just plain bad....

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/23/acti...n-analyst.html

...and this paragraph stuck out....

"We do think Bungie still has some opportunity to fix the game's problems over the next year and recapture engagement, but we're not sure they have the ability to pull it off at this point," he wrote. "We also note that Destiny currently has more serious competition in its genre from a refurbished Division (Ubisoft) and the indie title Warframe than it did three years ago, when D1 had its own share of player dissatisfaction."

I bought this game 2 months ago and still not played it.. Not out of choice. Every time i put this stupid fucking game in to play the system says i cannot play until the update has installed. I have installed 3 updates it seems, each around 15gb in size, and low and behold, today the same shit. Its shit like this that makes me feel people are justified in suing the makers of these cluster fuck games.

wait till you play it to call it stupid

almost all games that involve an online component to them (and this game heavily does) get regular updates to the games

nature of the industry, lots of these games have updates you need to download on day 1 of release .... frustrating at times but personally I'd rather games be updated as need be than shipped and never altered

But it doesnt give you an option to play UNLESS you download and install the update first. They could potentially keep updating this game regularly and i never get the option to just start playing. It sucks. I could simply turn off my router i guess, but not even sure if that would work. I hate the fact we live in times when gamed are released incomplete. I would rather wait and extra 6 months and get it finished.

It is an online only game which is clearly stated on the game’s back cover. Online connection required or something like that. Online only games such as mmorpgs or mmo-“like” FPS such as Destiny require constant updating to fix glitches, exploits, and add content, etc. I’m sorry but if you don’t like downloading large updates or have a slow connection or whatever, then stick with games that don’t require online play.

But like the first game i am presuming it has a single player campaign style content. Why thr fuck should i need an update for that? Glad to see you are on the side of the greedy lazy pricks.

While I dont agree with that service plan. It has been that way now for quite some time. Just dont buy the games, thats the only way companies will change that stupid hold back features, that would otherwise be on the finish product for future downloads.

Thats, why I have stop buying a lot of games.

New road map announced up to season 3 in May (which I guess is when the final DLC drops for the $99 edition?)

Because you are playing in a "shared world". There is no true single player, and just like the 1st one there is zero offline play.

Why do you make me copy and paste the link? Another indication that Destiny is failing

Just posted in the PSN chat. They had me at Burning Shrine. Plus I'll need to run the NF on my Hunter so she can dance and let you all know that you should have put a ring on it.

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

Hello and good Morning All....

I was browsing around the game sites and Polygon has a long article up....

Bungie is overhauling Destiny 2’s Nightfall strike and Prestige raids
https://www.polygon.com/2018/2/9/169...changes-bungie

Here's a small part from it and curious to what the players think of...

Barrett said Destiny 2 players will see the first hints of this new direction in the game’s version 1.1.3 update, which is scheduled for Feb. 27. The studio is revising Destiny 2’s strike scoring system, looking to give players a reason to kill enemies (instead of running past them) while still rewarding speed. Here’s how it will work:

Your fireteam members’ individual scores will add up to your group’s overall score, which is what will appear in the strike leaderboards.

Kills are the main contributor to the score, although the orbs you all generate (i.e., how frequently you use your super abilities) also factor in.

The longer you take, the lower your score will be. Once you get 15 minutes in, you’ll only earn half the points; after the 18-minute mark, you won’t earn any new points at all. At that point, the goal is simply to finish the strike as quickly as possible.

They're introducing some "Challenge Cards" but it's for the Prestige part.

All I want is a matchmaking option for Raids, Trials of the Nine and Nightstrikes. I will never be able to organize a group to do these and to date I've never seen any Destiny raid content.

Draven, we need to add you to our PSN chat group
Would be happy to have you run raids and nightfalls with us ... Trials, probably not so much

on a side note, couldn't gather enough Daggers to run the raid lair last night so I did a Guided Games .... smooth run, got the chest (masterworks) and helmet .... might use it again as necessary though I'd rather not

if you guys are interested in running the raid we should try and find a day to give it a go ... I would think there are other Daggers that would be kind enough to lend their time and experience to help

Re: Destiny 2 - 9/8/17 (PS4,XB1,PC)

So the base game is on sale for $16 at amazon for PS4. Is the core single player campaign worth it at that price? I didn't make it too far into the first game's campaign, mainly because I got frustrated with the dark zones (I think they were called?) that made you start a section all over if you died.

I'd say so - it's a solid 5 to 6 hour campaign that isn't too repetitive. Definitely worth it at that price for that alone.

The single player story is definitely better than the one in Destiny 1. For $16, you can't lose.

Damn, down to $10.84 now (still $25 on XB1). I wonder why the hell it's so cheap? Maybe they are coming out with a newer version with the expansions, kinda like how they did with The Taken King.
