What exactly are you doing in the game? I thought you didn't like large MP battles? What do you think of the new progression system and all the Battle Cards? That's a big turn-off for me.
For me the biggest disappointment is that not only did they not expand on BF1 online co-op modes, but they totally eliminated them from the game. There is couch co-op Arcade mode but nothing online. My best friend and I used to do the online skirmishes and Hero battles against each other a lot. It wasn't the deepest gameplay but we had fun. Why get rid of that stuff in the bigger sequel?

Okay, so people aren't getting it because of the progression issue bit now that it's fixed people are but it won't be fixed forget so people aren't?
Are any of you on PS4? I might get it.

I don't know what the hell you just said, little kid, but you're special man, you reached out, and you touch a brother's heart.

What I mean is, will someone please tell me if they will play with me on PS4 if I get this? I can't tell if we're supposed to play or be mad.

Decided to rent this one, took two days to finish it (honestly, could have knocked out the SP in one night). As far as MP goes, I enjoy the starfigher battles a lot more than any other mode; Heroes vs. Villains in particular is dreadful, IMO. Not really pleased that the SP campaign doesn't have a resolution and will have obvious DLC coming.

This is pretty clear what they're doing to anyone who works or has worked in the industry. They want to maximize their initial sales numbers to show to investors. Once the trade off is worth it(Probably 1-2 months in), they will enable the gamble boxes again because:
Everyone who was on the fence will have bought the game by now
You can't refund the game at this point
The news will have died down, and if new articles do come out, it won't be as relevant
They will already have good numbers to show investors
EA is going to royally fuck over the average gamer who doesn't have a clue how the industry works on this. This is about as deceptive as it gets. I hope that clarifies things…. but please do not let this extensive clarification distract you from the fact that in nineteen ninety eight when the undertaker threw mankind off hеll in a cell, and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcer's table.

Just curious Rob but are you playing any COD and if so how is the MP compared to SWB? I've got some friends here at work who play COD MP and they've said the same thing about the spawn points, getting killed in no time after spawning but the fact several they've seen are already way, way up despite the game out for a short period of time.
Sad to hear about the MP aspect....and I'm not big or good in that area but figured with the sheer size and various types and choices one no matter how good or bad would stand a decent chance....like you said should be fun.

I played a few rounds of the space battle MP and it was much more fun - to me. I truly suck at shooting in MPs but for some reason I'm a lot more successful when flying around. I tend to play more objective based (because it seems like you can).

Picked this up and have been playing the campaign. Fun game so far. I just got passed the first level as Luke; so no much progress yet.
I'm playing on and XB1X; wondering if anyone has the same issue as me. If I turn the system off simply by pressing XB Button to go to home then shutting down, when I turn it on and go back into the game, it's running at a fast speed. My character runs crazy fast. I have to quit the game and go back in for it to play correctly again. Other games don't do this if I turn the system off with them suspended rather than quit completely.

We did a great deal of the couch co-op arcade mode yesterday getting all one stars and half of the two stars replaying about every one several times. It is fun....Knack 2 still is the best couch co-op out there...and nice to play almost every class and character out there. Quite a bit of challenges to complete with both Good & Evil side.
I haven't started the campaign part and disappointed yet not surprised by the short length. By comparison I'm looking to get Horizon: Zero Dawn for Black Friday and the new DLC, Frozen Lands has a estimated 15 hours to play thru. I believe any game with a campaign story mode should have no less than 10 hours minimum period. People complained; including myself that the first SWB didn't have a story/campaign and instead of serving up a Full Course EA threw out a snack......

I'm hoping EA gets this franchise pulled from them. They're a profit driven company that's lost sight of their customer. I don't know who the developer is (off the top of my head) for Shadow of War, but I couldn't help but wonder how a SW game might feel in their hands. The controls are tight, the gameplay is inventive and it's just fun.

Fuck it, I'm having a great time with this game.
I've played a whole bunch of MP, mostly Galactic Assault, and a little bit of Arcade. I don't think I'll play single player for a while, unless the servers go down and I'm looking for something to do.
I've got about 30k credits at this point, but haven't spent them on any heros yet. The ones that are unlocked from the start are pretty good. Honestly, I rarely earn enough points in a match to call in an hero, so it's turning out to not really be that big of a deal, at least for me.

So all this unlocking of heroes and Vadar and controversy and such is just for MP, right?

I'm playing mostly Galactic Assault and I'm also having a blast. I'm a very casual gamer so I may not see some of the issues with certain parts of the game though. I do think the prequel maps tend to have longer battles (Kashyyk sucks) than the OT or ST maps. Kind of a bummer since I'm not a PT fan, but I think I read that one of the Dice guys is a huge clone trooper fan. Yavin, Death Star II, and Starkiller are my favorite maps so far.

The progression wasn't blown out of proportion. The first step EA took, before dropping, temporarily, the pay to win aspects was to drop the progression requirements by 75%.

I'm really liking most maps in the game, with the exception of Yavin. For some reason, and I had this same problem with the first game, I have the hardest time seeing enemies when there's super dense foliage. It's not so bad on other outdoor maps, like Endor, though. And, yeah, Kashyyk isn't the greatest, but playing that one at night is really cool.

Yes. People are concerned about the unfair advantage others will have by being able to pay to unlock some of the better heroes. I suck and I've already unlocked Vader, Luke, Iden, and Leia. I think a lot of the progression complaining was blown out of proportion. However, I do think the "pay to win" complaints are legit and I'm glad they have made a difference...for now.

From Belgium To Hawaii, Potential 'Battlefront 2' Loot Box Legislation Would Be Complicated.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/insertc.../#41e483f77cbc
These two statements stand out to me in the article.
Belgium recently making the argument that loot boxes in games are gambling, saying plainly “the combination of money and addiction is gambling."
And here in the states, there was a televised press event in Hawaii addressing the Battlefront 2 situation specifically, with state reps calling the game “a Star Wars themed online casino designed to lure kids into spending money.”

While I generally want the government to stay away from games I'm all for stopping micro transactions. Anything that gets companies like EA to focus on actual game play and not how they can get more money after it's sold.
