Maybe a bit too early to make of this or have a set opinion being it was a Beta....but a article at Polygon.... EA responds to Battlefront 2 loot box concerns
https://www.polygon.com/2017/10/12/1...tar-cards-dice
Crates will include a mix of of Star Cards, Outfits, Emotes or Victory Poses.
Players earn crates by completing challenges and other gameplay milestones, or by purchasing them with in-game credits or Crystals, our premium currency.
If you get a duplicate Star Card in a crate, you will get crafting parts which you can then use to help upgrade the Star Card of your choice.
And lastly, you have to earn the right to be able to upgrade Star Cards and unlock most Weapons. You can only upgrade or unlock them if you have reached a high enough rank, which is determined by playing the game.
From IGN, they have a similar article and in it they do state this....
Star Cards, Outfits, Emotes and Victory Poses will all be available in loot crates, purchasable with both in-game credits and premium currency.
In an effort to balance the potential effect of players buying crates, the most powerful items will not be included in crates. Instead, they will be unlocked via in-game achievements.

I played it but didn't like how quick it went...basically on a small timer. I don't know if that's how it will be in the actual game or not but a couple of minutes is useless. I know there are different modes and with the beta you had two choices; one being a Droid in a 10vs10 and the other Darth Maul...really fun with the dual Light Saber Staff where it was a Kill All inside the Palace.

Hoping the single-player campaign is longer than 6 hours... and without padding.

I'm torn on this. I had high hopes for the first Battlefront. It's what finally pushed me to get a PS4. But I was so disappointed. Felt like half a game and mechanics were weird. Lots and lots of immediate spawn deaths. I want to believe this will be good. I want to believe... I want...

Read a quickie Yahoo article stating the SP game is roughly 8 hours long. I'm ok with that...

IGN's podcast said 5-7 hours, so yeah that sounds good for a title that has a strong MP emphasis. Premium single-player action games like Uncharted are usually in the 10-12 hours range.

But yeah, I'm totally down with a shorter campaign for this one. I know I wouldn't end up playing much of the multiplayer, so I'm looking forward to renting it and running through the campaign.

Looks like EA listened and took notice of the concerns after the beta about the possible chance of this turning into a "Pay-to-Win"....
EA Reveals Changes Coming to Star Wars Battlefront II’s Multiplayer Progression System at Launch
https://www.dualshockers.com/ea-reve...system-launch/
Today, EA and DICE revealed that they have taken into account this feedback from the Battlefront II beta and as such have altered the progression system that will be seen in the game at launch.
The changes that were outlined are as follows:
Epic Star Cards, the highest tier of Star Cards available at launch, have been removed from Crates. To help keep everyone on a level playing field, these Star Cards will primarily be available through crafting, with the exception of special Epic Star Cards available through pre-order, deluxe, and starter packs.
You’ll need to reach a certain rank to craft upgraded Star Cards. You won’t be able to buy a bunch of Crates, grind everything up into crafting materials, and immediately use them to get super powerful Star Cards. You can only upgrade the ability to craft higher tier Star Cards by ranking up through playing the game.
Weapons are locked behind specific milestones. While a select few will be found in Crates, the rest can only be attained by play. Want to unlock a new weapon for your Heavy? Play as a Heavy and you’ll gain access to the class’s new weapons.
Class-specific gear and items can be unlocked by playing as them. As you progress through your favorite class, you’ll hit milestones granting you class-specific Crates. These will include a mix of Star Cards and Crafting Parts to benefit your class’s development.

^ That's great news. Seems like they listened to a lot of the criticisms regarding the loot crates.

Gamespot has a review u or a preview of playing some of the first early parts of the campaign. You can read into and it does reveal details but still a good read on experiencing playing the other side.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/10/...-the-dark-side
I did read into where he talks about one glaring problem..you cannot pick up weapons from dead troops and if you drop yours you cannot pick it back up. The weapons are found on Weapon Racks or in certain crates which are scattered. I'll hold off judging this until I play with it.

So no BF deals on this? I know it's release date is the week before BF, but I was hoping this would pop up for $39.99 somewhere. Maybe I missed it.

They might have some deals in December, but it's going to be way too new for BF deals. Best deal right now is the $10 reward zone certificate at Best Buy for preorders.

Game not even out yet and here's a list of some of the "First Wave of Free Content"....
Star Wars Battlefront II’s First Wave of Free Content Will Be Arriving Next Month
New hero characters, new vehicles, new planets, and an added single-player chapter will be coming to Battlefront II in December near the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

...and this list is better than anything Bungie has done with Destiny 2....

Don't have GCU, don't have BF1, don't have coupon. I can come up with $60 cash easier than that shit.

interesting, i didn't realize there was a coupon for BF2. Maybe I just take in Doom and put that toward the game and get the preorder bonus. Thanks Decker.
