Favorite game series?
 

Well, for me it is the trilogy that started me on my FPS journey. Halo for Xbox, 360, etc. of course. Loved all the games. Though similar gameplay and not really revolutionized with each game, it just has given me the most enjoyment and first FPS I ever played and now mostly gravitate to that genre.

I know there are many systems and many series', but what's your favorite series on any console or PC?

I will also give the Metroid series a nod as I've played most and loved them. Hey wait, Prime was FPS, right? I guess that's my first...

Mine is going Old skool. It was the sabreman series on the Spectrum. Modern it comes down to GTA I guess.

1. Diablo

Yeah, Diablo III is the weakest in the series, but I still feel the combat is extremely satisfying. I put in several hundred hours of gaming, so it can't be all bad. Diablo and Diablo II were both spectacular in their day.

2. Sid Meier's Civilization

I don't play these types of games as much as I used to, but Civ 1 and 2 are among my favorite games of all time.

3. Ultima

Ultima VII: The Black Gate is my all time favorite CRPG. Throw in Ultima IV, Ultima VII Part 2, and the Underworlds and you end up with some of my fondest gaming memories. Too bad the series ended with such dreck.

Yep. I came to the series late with the trilogy set for the PS4 and it quickly became my favorite ongoing video game series. Glad that a new one is in the works.

If I just went by number of games owned from a series, it'd be NHL or Fifa from EA.

But I would choose the Battlefield series as my favourite.

Halo used to be a blast, but the last couple entries really killed my interest in the series going forward.

At first I would say the first Halo on the first Xbox....that was just overall pure fun playing with everyone including the first "DVD Talk Clan"..

...but then came along Gears of War for the 360 and single player, co-op, MP and the ever fun "Horde" mode makes it my overall first choice.

I also loved all the Shining Force games (and even the related dungeon crawler games), but there hasn't been one for a long, long time.

Megami Tensei and all its spinoffs save for the Personas from 3 forward.
