The Disney Afternoon Collection- April 18th, 2017 (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC)

So Disney and Capcom announced today that they'll be releasing a collection of their old 8-bit games. Titles included are: Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers 2, Darkwing Duck, DuckTales, DuckTales 2, and TaleSpin.

Kind of wish it was coming to Switch too but I'll definitely get this for One. I still have my NES cartridges for Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers and DuckTales. The sequels are both pretty pricey in the secondary market though. Also have my Genesis copy of TaleSpin still. I don't think I ever played Darkwing Duck.

DuckTales is one of my all-time faves and played the hell out of both the original and the remaster...but I don't think I ever played 2.

The only other one I played was CnD, which was also solid.

Regardless, pretty cool to release something like this.

I wish it was coming to the 3DS. I suppose I can just play the roms on my DS.

I never played the original Ducktales but have enjoyed the remaster, even though side-scrollers are not my favorite.

I want this, but if its digital only, I'm not sure I am willing to part with $20, probably $10 on digital. Physical copy on X1...$20 all day long. I'm such a cheap bastard when it comes to digital...

Im wondering if maybe they'll do a physical release later. The remastered version of DuckTales was digital only at first too but later came as a physical release. I believe Capcom also put out the Mega Man Legacy Collection as digital first and then released a physical copy later (although I think they announced it right away). Regardless I love all the games I've played in this collection so will easily plunk down $20 for it.

This is out now. Fun and frustrating as I remember.

What kind of gameplay is Ducktales? I always hear about how good it is, but never really knew about it or anything...

The easiest way to describe all of the games in the collection is "2D platformers" but you have no clue what that means.

I missed the original but a few years ago I bought Ducktales Remastered on the WiiU and it was one of my favorite gaming experiences ever, no joke. I may have to get this for the Xbone.

A simple search of what kind of games these are and seeing screenshots or video would have told you that. Sheesh.

Didn't they even include a rewind feature? Is it unlimited use?

Especially without saves or anything. Old school games were pretty relentless. I still wish this would be on Switch as these would be fun games to play on the go. Especially considering that these were all NES games you'd think Capcom would put it on Nintendo's new console. Maybe down the line.
