I still have a PlayStation 3 that was my Blu-ray player for years and, I recently got a Xbox One that I've been using lately.

Nope...I got the PS4 for mainly gaming though I did buy one of the Game of Thrones seasons thru PS+ when it was far less than the BR Set on Amazon. But we have a dedicated BR Player for movies and audio

Yes

When I'm working on a Xbox game (like now, I'm playing Forza), the PS4 is my BD player. When I'm on a PS4 gaming run, the Xbox is my BD player.

Less swapping discs that way.

My PS3 is still hooked to the same TV as my PS4, and the PS3 is still my primary Blu Ray player, mainly because I have a remote for it.

Very few responses so far, but most indicate it gets used to play movies to some extent. Which makes Sony's movie of leaving out UHD playback on PS4 Pro a major misstep. I use it the same way so Obi-Wan does as well.

Same here. If I only had a PS4, that would be what I used to watch discs.

When I moved about a year ago I stopped using my standalone blu-ray player because I don't really have a space for it anymore. I don't watch blu-rays very often anymore anyway, so when I do, I just use my Pro or Xbone.

Ya, I feel like I mainly stream these days, I only buy a handful of blu-rays a year, so my XBox One works fine.

You're getting responses from a dvdtalk forum so I'd say it's a little different then the average person. Like I mentioned in the 8 or so conversations that have been had on this site already about lack of UHD in the Pro the average person streams their movies/shows now days and if they do use discs are not going to buy into another format (with $30-40 discs) so it will look slightly better (to the average consumers eyes) then they get on streaming. The 5-10% of people who have interest in the UHD format is obviously not worth it to Sony to deal with having it in the system. Especially when this small percentage of people will just buy a separate player because they are video/audio obsessed.

Our PS3 in the living room is our blu ray player and our PS4s are our gaming consoles.

Yes. I bought a standalone Bluray player before my XBone, but when I got the Xbox I ran out of HDMI ports. Currently my BD player is routed through the xbox, but since the xbox plays blurays, I just use it.

Re: Is your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One also your primary Blu-ray player?

No

I just got an all-regions BD player a few months ago.

I did get an XBox One S a week or so ago and only have 1 UHD at the moment. If I get more in the future, I may use it more for playing movies. But, as of right now, it will primarily be used as a game console and sometimes a streaming device.

I also have a PS4, but never use it as a BD player.

Re: Is your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One also your primary Blu-ray player?

My PS3 is my main BD and streaming device.

I also have an XB1, but it's finicky about accepting game discs, so I tend to leave them in as long as I'm playing something just so I don't have to mess with it again. I just got a PS4 so I'll see how I end up using it.

XB1 is my primary BD player. I like it even more now that it has Dolby Atmos pass through. Plus it supports 3D movies as well.

Did they just add that Atmos update? I haven't seen it yet? Thought it was supposed to be later this year.

Re: Is your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One also your primary Blu-ray player?

We have both a PS3 and PS4 hooked up to the same TV and we use the PS4 for gaming and the PS3 for everything else. Three reasons:

1. The PS4 remote has horrible reviews so we haven't pickked it up, and the DualShock4 controller is weird for navigating Netflix, Blu-rays, etc.

2. The kids, both under 6, already know how to put discs in and out of the PS3 and are used to the ribbon interface. It's easier for them since it's static whereas the PS4 ribbon keeps shifting depending on what games I play or apps I use.

3. Our Onkyo receiver has the PS3 in the "Blu-ray" HDMI slot and the PS4 in the "Game" HDMI slot and mentally we pretty much think of them both that way so even when it's time for me to pop in a disc, I default to the PS3
