Haven't played much (or at least finished) but thought this would be a cool thread...

In no order...
Doom
BioShock remastered
Battlefield 1
CoD: Infinite Warfare

I haven't either gotten to or played enough of some of the other games that will be popular top 5s, so here goes:

Forza Horizon 3
Battlefield 1
Mafia III
Hitman
Batman - The Telltale Series

I haven't played through everything for sure, but a few favorites from this year. in no particular order:

Civilization VI (PC): A step up from Civ5 at launch, I'm sure it'll continue to impress for years to come.
Forza Horizon 3 (XB1): I just got this, but it's amazing, the Horizon series is really a must-buy series at this point.
American Truck Simulator (PC): I could never get into Eurotruck, but driving around the Southwest US is a lot of fun.
Heroes of the Storm (PC): While not a release this year, it's come out with enough new content and improved dramatically, I think it's my most played game over the course of the year.
XCom 2 (XB1): Another game I just got but I love the shift in strategy from the previous XComs.
