... and Clusterpuck99 hit the online store today. It’s $10.
We played a few 4 player games ‘cause we couldn’t get a 5th joycon to stay synced (I have 3 sets... one of which I won from the PHL Collective at PAX South).
It’s a fun game that is simple to play and is a great party game.
Edit to add: There is a track creator in the game. My kid built one surround by spikes with bumpers and speed pads everywhere. He's 9.

To be honest, Splatoon 2 should have incorporated that DLC in the game. It is fun to play online, for awhile, but there is just not really that much to the core game, in my opinion. Also, it sucks to be matched up online as a lower level with completely uneven teams and then get wiped off the map by higher level players with much better equipment than you have. They basically get double the points while you are in leveling up purgatory. And my last complaint. Is there any way to avoid that stupid talk show each time you load the game up?

Kirby Star Allies is fun but damn is it easy. I mean yeah it’s a Kirby game so it’s not going to be incredibly hard but it’s way easy. I’ve barely died and think I could beat it in a couple play throughs. I think the replay value will be finding the puzzle pieces to complete the images but I don’t think there’s a bonus for that. Nice relaxing game though.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch
Update: argh.. Nintendo replaced it with a refurb, not able to retain the save files. Even worse, the SD card with data on it could not be used in the "new" Switch and required a format.

Sounds just like a PS4 warranty service, but without cloud save feature or the ability to back up saves manually.
That sucks.
That sucks.

Wait, is the SD card thing true in general. Like if I buy a new switch the SD card won't work in it unless I reformat?

Nintendo needs to do something about that. That’s total shit that if something happens to my Switch I lose everything and no way to retrieve the data. Luckily nothing has happened to me (knock on wood) but I’d be pissed if anything did and being left with a bricked console. Hopefully they’ll offer some sort of cloud drive or something as part of the online service.

I assume that's so you don't download games on an SD and give them to your friends to play. I get that concern, but there has to be some way to back up your save data without having to wipe your card after you move it to a new system, right? Even the PS4 has that ability.

The game saves absolutely should be able to be backed up to the SD card. I am disappointed as a new Switch owner to know that this is not the case.

Not a knock at you personally, dsa_shea, but this is the mentality the game makers have put us in now and I don't like it at all. Instead of saying, "Hey, why do we have to pay double for the complete game by buying it piece meal with DLC?! Just make a more robust, complete game in the first place instead of ripping us off!" we're left essentially saying, "Hey, the game is kinda small, could you please offer DLC so we can pay for more of it?"

This is correct. I sold off my launch Switch and re-bought one a couple months back. My 100+ hour Zelda save is gone and Nintendo wouldn't help me without the SN off the original system, which I of course don't have. The SD card had to be formatted before it could be used in the new console.

The fucked up part is, they do have the saves in the cloud. We just don't have access to them. They made it seem like if I had both SN's they'd be able to help me somehow. They never said the save was gone.
