REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nintendo Switch has become the fastest-selling home video game system in U.S. history. The home console that players can take wherever they go launched March 3, 2017, and in 10 months has sold more than 4.8 million units in the United States, according to Nintendo’s internal sales figures. That’s the highest total for the first 10 months of any home video game system in U.S. history, surpassing Nintendo’s own Wii system, which was the previous record holder with more than 4 million units sold during the same timeframe.
Impressive. Even as an owner who's enjoyed the system, it's funny to see it be such a huge success despite having a lot of shortcomings.

Still makes me chuckle thinking back to a certain poster who felt the Wii U bombed because people just weren't interested in gaming consoles anymore only to have the PS4 and the Switch completely dominate.

ARMS is on sale... in the EU store. Unfortunately with the conversion rates you don't save enough for me to bother, but I hope that means a NA sale is coming.

Well I bought it for full price two weeks ago so that seems pretty likely.

Nice Goot!

I bought it for my girls (as well as myself, but shhhh...don't tell them that). We picked up Zelda, Mario Cart, MO, and Arms. They've been playing Mario Cart mostly, while I've been playing BotW. I haven't played a Zelda game since Ocarina, so it's a nice throwback for me. I have they extra set of joy cons so the four of us can play Mario Cart but I plan on picking up a pro controller as well.

Welp I picked up Blossom Tales and Enter the Gungeon after reading some online comments. Digging Gungeon, I can't put my finger on it but Blossom just isn't pulling me in.

Finished up Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I did some sidequests but didn't go crazy and finished at 81 hours. Great game.

My next Switch purchase will probably be Lost Sphear as I really liked I am Setsuna.

Oh, and count me in as another that loves the Pro controller. Of course when the kids play mario kart they fight over the "big controller" as opposed to the left and right joycon.

Nintendo is going to sell the Splatoon Joy-Cons in the US now, previously part of the bundle or only in other regions.

Those are sort of tempting but I don't necessarily need more Joy Cons and they're pricey to buy just on impulse.

Found a box of Super Mario Cereal (aka The “Delicious Amiibo”) at Walmart today. There were two boxes.

First time I have seen them in the wild.

I am in the club, got the Switch this week. Having a blast with Splatoon. Waiting on my pro controller to arrive before I start Mario Odyssey.

Apparently the suggested controller for Mario Odyssey is a single Joy Con in each hand. At least, the game seems to suggest that.

I played through with the pro controller. Heh.

I imported mine when there was no sign of a US version in sight and I love them! I'll be getting these too mostly because they are reversed from the UK/JP versions so I could have full pink or full green! That'll be 6 joycons total pushing me to the point where it only makes responsible financial sense to pick up a second Switch (and 2 more joycons) down the line.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

You all have peer-pressured me into buying a Pro Controller. Got a "Very Good" Condition one from Amazon Warehouse for $55. Looking forward to trying it out next week.

You WON'T get me to buy a third set of Joy Cons, regardless of color.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

I bought a second set of joycons (the red and blue ones, so now I have matching reds and blues), the charging grip, and an extra dock when Target had their sale last month. I'm thinking I should have just bought another switch, but then Nintendo's crappy system doesn't allow you to have the same profile on multiple switches plus the saves are tied to the console (which may be the only time in console history that you'll lose all your saves if you break your console).

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

I need an extra set of joycons so all my kids and I can play Mario kart. I'll probably pick these up because I kind of wanted all of my joycons to be different and every other set I've seen are only sold in matching pairs (I got red/blue with the console)

I beat Severed back on the Wii U and it's fantastic. It requires the touch screen though so just a warning you can't play it docked.

It's by the same people who made Guacamelee.

Thimbleweed Park is excellent if you're a fan of the old point & click adventure games. I was happy with the purchase at full price.

Severed was also a free PS+ game on Vita (if you have one of those). Pretty good use of the touch screen.
