Back on topic, any reason to get Prince of Persia on Switch over PS5? Graphically it doesn't seem like much of a difference. Just seems like the system to play it on. Or maybe I'm imagining things.

For reference the Switch is my #2 platform and I play with it docked 99% of the time.

There's no real pro to the Switch version if you don't plan on using it in handheld mode.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

My first wish would be HD re-masters of Mario Galaxy 1&2 available to buy immediately.
(they've already done the first one, having a bundle of those two should be simple)

Second wish would be an HD re-master of Metroid Prime 2&3, similar to how they did the first one.

And here I thought we'd be looking at nothing but remakes, remasters, and ports...!

I can't get over how strong the Switch's final year looks. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is probably my most anticipated release of 2024.

Same here regarding Zelda. The art style from Link's Awakening was my favorite.

And then we have the Dragon Quest 3 remake in Nov. Fall is going to be nuts with games this year.

For a late cycle release schedule that was honestly pretty stacked. I'm also excited to have MvC collection.

This looks good too. I better order another Voucher 2-pack, I guess.

I never in a million years would ever think we would get a new Mario Party for the Switch.

Is this sarcasm? If there's one franchise they like to milk (instead of, you know, just making DLC) it's Mario Party.

Just watched the Zelda video showing off the building/combat system. Absolutely amazing.

I would say it isn't even close. In the past 10 years, we've gotten:

WII U
Mario Party 10

SWITCH
Super Mario Party
Mario Party Superstars
Super Mario Party Jamboree

3DS
Mario Party: Star Rush
Mario Party: The Top 100

Whereas for Mario Kart in that same time frame, we've gotten two versions of Mario Kart 8, a mobile game, and the not-exactly-comparable Home Circuit with the physical RC cars.

Zelda looks awesome. Now I just need confirmation of 'no breakable weapons' and I'll be in.

Mario Party looks like a winner too.

I mean if you can duplicate infinite weapons over and over again, I can't imagine it even matters.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

That Direct was packed full of stuff I'm interested in! I was not expecting a new Zelda game but I'm super excited for it after the disappointing BOTW/TOTK and the direction those games have taken the franchise.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Wow. It's so much fun watching the Directs live. Was not expecting a Zelda game. Like an actual honest to goodness Zelda game. And it seems like they've taken a completely different game mechanic which is just incredible. Now all our parents who have been asking us if that's Zelda on the screen all those years ago will finally be redeemed.

That's definitely the game I'm most looking forward too. I really don't want to buy a console in it's last year but it will be really hard to resist that special edition Switch lite.

Metroid Prime 4. I don't want to say underwhelmed. But I'm more whelmed. I don't know if it's just the exceptionally long development time or what but finally seeing a taste of the game was a slight let down for me. Of course I'm not judging the final project. I guess since we've waited this long I was kind of hoping they would wait for the next console (which I'm still hoping they'll pull a Twilight Princess/BOTW and release it on both with some graphical improvements). It just honestly didn't look any better than Metroid Prime Remastered. It didn't really introduce any kind of unique gameplay gimmick and I wasn't really impressed with Metroid Prime Hunters so that tie in didn't mean anything to me. It'll definitely be a day one purchase for me and I'm sure I'll love it I'm just not nearly as excited as I thought I would have been.

Since they didn't mention Metroid Prime 2 & 3 remaster I guess that probably means this isn't the last Switch Direct? I guess they could announce those games on their own but they really seem to like to save first party announcements for their Directs.

If they’re happening, it could also be really close to the Prime 4 release. Pikmin 1+2 was a shadowdrop when they really showed off Pikmin 4 and revealed its release date.

Weren't they announced at least unofficially? Or did we all just assume that it was happening?

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

I want to buy a couple of vouchers for the new Zelda and Mario & Luigi games, but the games are not available for pre-order. Doesn't it seem weird that they weren't included anywhere on the eShop yet? I don't want to have to waste a couple of vouchers if they don't get included. Usually new upcoming games are listed for pre-order in the eShop the day they're announced.

Yes, my daughter and I fire it up from time to time. When it was first released, we played the fool out of it.

Longstanding rumor is that they’ve been done for a while. (Ditto for Twilight Princess and Wind Waker.) Nintendo is supposedly sitting on them, waiting to fill a lull in their schedule.
