Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

I got an Asus rog ally and it's a switch killer. And more and more games are being released on switch and pc pretty close to each other or at the same time. I want to play pikmin 4 but I'll wait for a sale. The only other title coming out soon that interest me is the sonic one having never played a sonic game more than 5 minutes but that will be on pc. Also eyeing bomberman r2 but that also will be on pc. Also would like to play Disney Illusion Island but definitely not at full price. All of these will go on my deku wish list. The rog ally really is going to revolutionize gaming because now you can have any game on the go.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Though to be fair, Pikmin 4 is the only first-party game on the Switch with a release date right now. Thereís a rumor about a Direct this week, and if that pans out, maybe weíll get a clearer picture what the rest of 2023 looks like from Nintendo.

Edit - forgot about Everybody 1-2 Switch later this month. But nobodyís counting that.

And after tinkering and learning, the Ally is a more seamless experience. Also now more than ever more XBOX (almsot all) and Switch and PS5 games are now being published on PC. So it's not so much a handheld, it's a non-confined handheld and a period where the PC is getting most major and minor releases on release date and if not eventually.

If you didnít start a thread about it and reference it frequently I seriously doubt I would know the ASUS Rog Ally or whatever itís awkwardly called even existed. It ainít revolutionizing gaming.

Pretty inappropriate to post in the Switch thread; or to generally say at all in this forum.

Unless it can play Nintendo games, it's not anything related to the Switch.

Noted. I do have a Switch and it's not going anywhere. Nintendo is not going to stop making first-party titles. Pikmin and Disney Illusion Island (Disney Speedstorm, which I also have on the Switch, got me itching to play Disney games and that one at least is finite).

So I created an alternate Nintendo account with the region set as Hong Kong, navigated the eShop in Chinese (no English option), and punched in those codes. Then I bought a couple of Hong Kong eShop gift cards so I could grab the season pass for SD Shin Kamen Rider Rumble.

Apparently so long as one profile has access to this DLC, all profiles will, so I should be able to play using my regular ol' American account.

Will any of this be worth it? We'll see!
I should look into this, there's lots of DLC I just gave up on for SRW and the like. I have a Japanese account but not a HK one (but the HK ones are the ones with English options)

So it did not, in fact, kill your switch then?

Same. I follow gaming and the industry more than your average gamer and here is pretty much the only place I've seen anyone talk about the system. It might revolutionize gaming for her personally but it's not even a blip in the actual game industry.

Asus rog ally? Something with a random collection of letters for a name isn't going to revolutionize anything.

However, looking forward to Pikmin 4!

ROG is Republic of Gamers, ASUS' already existing gaming line.

Hope they announce something else cool for winter. I still have an orphan Voucher to use.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

It would be cool if they announce (Tears of the Kingdom *spoiler* related):
Spoiler:
Amiibos for the Sages, a four pack and then the 5th Sage separateÖ and the Sage of Time, possibly.

Another rumor going around is a Skylanders reboot.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Hope they've been working on remasters for the other 2 Metroid Prime games, and that their release is just around the corner.

The first one was so successful, that they'd be dumb not to!

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

^this! Obviously this is mainly going to be about Pikmin 4 but the past few Directs have been great with surprise announcements/simultaneous releases. I forgot but did the last direct say they were mainly focusing on Zelda? Just wondering out loud if this will mainly be about Pikmin 4 or if there will be a good amount of other announcements.

It's funny how everyone was kind of questioning Nintendo when they pulled out of E3 and first started doing these Directs. Now it seems like other companies are following suit. I still miss a lot of the ridiculousness of E3 though.

Nintendo has nothing on the calendar right now after Pikmin 4, so this will introduce most, if not all, of the first party slate between now and the end of the year, surely along with some third party stuff.

Iím sure Pikmin 4 will get a good bit of attention, but I canít really imagine it being the focal point.

Well fuck. I wasn't planning on spending $50 on games today, but the surprise release of HD versions of Pikmin and Pikmin 2 made for an automatic purchase.

The remakes of Mario RPG and Star Ocean 2 were definitely the highlights for me. I LOVE the remake of Star Ocean 1.
