He just had very unfortunate timing
Check the tag it's YouTube, not Twitter, he's posting about the Disney racing game.

What other game did Disney abandon like that though? Are we talking Infinity? That was a vehicle to sell toys and the toys to life market cratered so the toys had to be clearanced/weren't being ordered by stores anymore.

This was going to come out a year ago but Russia invaded Ukraine. Here's an intro video and a half an hour gameplay review with gameplay video.

With all this talk of Diablo 4 I didn't want to spend 70 bucks so I spent $30 for my first Diablo game, Diablo 3. I spent 2.5 hours on it today
I can't stop playing this game. Keep resurrecting to corpse and just keep the cheap stuff equipped
That's my strategy. I don't think I've ever spent that much time on a game on the first time out.

I have never played FF before, thinking of the Pixel pack. It's six long games for $80. With Speedstorm, Advance Wars Reboot, FF, Lego, may be an expensive couple of months but I don't know that I'll be getting other games any time soon. FF lets you turn off random encounters and 4X XP and get multiples of coin, should even out the playing field and make it playable for me.

Do you really need all those cheats to get through NES games?

Wouldn't it be easier at that point to just watch the cutscenes on YouTube? Those settings make a RPG like FF nothing more than a story to experience. You're removing all the gameplay.

I enjoy the button mashing.
They are selling each one individually and in the eshop it's already $75 for all six, going for it. I am looking forward to my first FF game and playing them in order, apparently they are masterpieces (yes of course I've heard of them).

Have you tried Dragon Quest as well? The first three are also available on the eshop (though not on sale at the moment)

I played Xi when it was on gamepass and loved it but left it after a couple of hours because it was too hard to figure out where I had to go next. I loved the story and monsters.

The early RPGs of NES were FAR more vague about what to do and where to go than they are now. So, good luck I guess.

If you consider the access to internet, then sure. Every game is much easier to navigate due to online guides and message boards.

Smaller worlds, sure. I'd argue against being simpler to navigate. Today's games have maps, map markers, quest logs to reference..etc. Hell, Deb mentions DQ11 which literally gives you a story recap every time you load your save. You venture in the wrong direction in an older FF game and you just run into much higher level enemies that will take you out with no Autosaves to save you.

Yes, if you go the wrong way, you'll run into higher level monsters that you either grind to defeat or... you go the other way. It's basic game design that points you in a certain direction unless you are just insane and want to try to grind levels. But especially early on, there's none of that "oh you opened that chest? Guess you won't get this weapon later" kind of shenanigans that you would only know if you had a guide of some kind. Sure, they give you class options and such and if you want to min/max then you need to do certain things, but in general everything in those really early JRPGs are grindable by all.
Also the remasters have a lot of quality of life improvements that help. You no longer whiff attacks if you choose to attack an enemy and someone else killed it in the same turn. They added maps and quick saves. I'm actually getting the FF remasters more so my kids can experience them.
I mean look at something like all the complicated systems for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 or 3, it's like night and day as far as accessibility and how easy it is to get lost. I said it before, I think in the "what you don't like about games" thread, a lot of times if I drop a modern rpg for a few weeks or so it's almost impossible for me to get back into it without like looking up how the battle system works and what I'm doing in the story (DQ excepted)
Having said all that unless they drastically changed the battle system I don't think I'm finishing FF2 again.

Ended up not getting it
Got Advance Wars instead, I put over 1k hours into the original gba game. With that and Speedstorm I'll just wait for a sale.

Wait... this came out TWO years ago for the PC?!?! I'm getting it on Steam instead (not now, when I get enough of Speedstorm, AW). I'll wait for a sale there. I prefer PC whenever possible. I don't really use the switch portably. Just for Switch-only games I want to play.

I don't know anything about the Switch version but Rogue Legacy is $3, which is a fucking steal. I poured probably 60 hours into it on the PS4 so I doubt I'll run through the game again, but I might grab it at that price to just to have a handheld copy.

They must be having a sale because Borderlands Legendary is 9.99. What's interesting is that the two lesser vertions are also 9.xx it may be a price mistake.

No, it's been that low several times before, I don't think it's a mistake.
I'm sure it's been said earlier in this long thread but GatorDeb use
https://www.dekudeals.com
or something similar, especially because the actual eshop is terrible at scrolling through all the deals.
