There’s a link to the Nintendo page in my post above.

I don’t think it’s getting a physical release.

Maybe I was confused I thought it was the Splatoon the Switch OLED version. That’s the one my son wants but there is no preorders available.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

There are preorder pages up at Best Buy and Gamestop but I don't think they've gone live yet. Hopefully it's like the Animal Crossing one, difficult to get at first but trickling out and even still available today.

Well yeah because the game's not out yet. I don't think any of the special edition switches came with the game.

I love me some Shovel Knight… and I love me some dig games…

… I’m in heaven!

It has a release date of September 23rd.

That Shovel Dig looks great - love that they've gone more "16-bits" rather than the more "8-bit" of the original game.

Those who upgraded to the OLED model - - was it worth it?
Looks like a bit of a hassle to move everything over, especially Animal Crossing. I have a Splatoon 3 model to pick up today.

It kind of was but it was worth it. Except I messed up the AC transfer and lost 2 1/2 years of progress. Oh well.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

I ended up getting a new OLED Switch, the Splatoon 3 limited one. I like it. Much more vibrant colors and the screen seems bigger even if it really.
Plus it just looks so much nicer than my OG gray Switch., which is headed to Gamestop tomorrow.

Oh wow. That's enough to make me steer clear of trying to upgrade my switch any time soon. Seriously Nintendo. I really wish they would listen to their fans or even just try to do it themselves. I mean something stupid like their ridiculous transfer process isn't making piracy any better as you can see from the recent Splatoon 3 leak.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

They have fixed the Animal Crossing transfer issue. You can now download a transfer tool which is free in the eShop. As long as you have both systems it's, well still not a breeze, but at least doable. In addition you can also back up your island to restore (in case of disaster only like losing your Switch) , assuming you have Nintendo Online. That's in the game after update, you just turn the back up option On.

Is the splatoon leak from a hack or from someone getting the game early?

Also, I thought Nintendo has this pretty well locked down. Actually those early model switches are pretty valuable because of the fact that some of them can be hacked a lot easier.

The screen is bigger but more importantly check the serial number for your old switch. If it’s an unpatched model, the console minus the joy cons and dock goes for $150-$200.

I think it’s just copies got out early so some of the story can be spoiled.

Nintendo is releasing a Pokémon Scarlett/Violet OLED Switch on 11/4. Looks really cool.

Disney revealed that at D23. Looks kinda fun even though I’m not a big fan of the animation style.

It was definitely not a Direct for me, but for any of you who are super into farming sims/RPGs, you sure do have a lot to look forward to!

Still..it sucks to think that eventually in the not too distant future this will go away whenever the service does. If they released it as an actual download then it would last at least as long as the lifespan of the console.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Next new Kirby game looks fun, but I dunno if it looks SIXTY-DOLLARS fun...

Also, it's wild to me how Nintendo's been developing more mainline Kirby games on the Switch than Mario games.
