Nope, it mostly sat in a case. I actually rarely used it docked. Reading online seems to indicate the Switch doesn't really behave well when the battery completely drains, and I was hoping it would come "alive" after leaving it plugged in for awhile, but to no avail.

Yeah, I’ve also heard that it can be bad if you let your Switch die all the way (I suppose really that’s true of a lot of devices with rechargeable batteries). I’ve gone periods without useage and it just sitting docked, but probably not longer than a month or so. I try not to get much below 10% battery when I’m using it portable.

The Mario Tennis game has seen new life with the most recent update. The makers will supposedly support it through June.

getting another set of joy-cons with the Mario Party bundle for my son for Christmas. Is the only way to charge joycons through connecting to the console?

No. You can buy an official Nintendo charging grip for
$30 $30
or an off brand for like
$15 $15
.

Glad to hear there is some single player stuff in this one since most of those modes were stripped out of the Wii U version.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Having missed the smoking Wal-Mart in-store Black Friday misprice, I'm tempted to send $40 on a digital copy of Diablo III. I just love that game and this is the one time I wouldn't mind re-buying a game to have a portable version to play.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

I was surprised I actually got a game a day early for once. They usually show up late the day of or after. My copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate showed up this afternoon, but I can’t play for a couple hours anyways.

Picked up a copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at a local Gamestop at 9PM (PST).

Lots of B&M stores in the area did 9PM (PST) releases for it.

Started the Spirit mode last and got to Bayonetta. I must have been defeated by her a hundred times. I’m not really an expert Smash Bros. fighter or anything though so maybe I’m just bad at it as she’s one of the earlier fights.

Do you need to pay to play online for Smash?

The game definitely can be challenging if you aren't familiar with the game's systems & mechanics.

My brother plays Smash Bros. competitively while I just sort of press buttons (which makes the game challenging for me in comparison)

I've unlocked about 45+ characters so far. Currently stuck on trying to unlock Incineroar in Challenges.

I’ve played the past installments other than Melee as I never had a GameCube and I never played the Wii U game, but had the 3DS version of the same one. I’m just not the most versed in it necessarily.

I spoke to my brother this morning about the CPU Difficulty. He told me that the CPU was designed by SSBM Pro Player aMSa & SSB4 Pro Player Ranai. That would explain a whole lot.

So far I have 72/74 Characters in the game, which feels like a small feat.

Yeah, I’m only up to 39 of the possible 1,297 things to unlock. Feel like this game is going to consume a lot of my time.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Anybody gets the Hori Battle Pad, please post impressions. I'm hopeful for it as an inexpensive alternative for not just the GameCube pad, but the Pro Controller in general. Had the Wii U version and it felt a bit cheap, unfortunately.

If you still have your Gamecube Controllers, Nintendo released a First-Party Adapter for Gamecube Controllers to function on the Switch.

There is a whole lot to do!

I just unlocked the final character this morning, so I'll probably slow down how much I've been playing lately. Eventually, I'll jump back into The World of Light Single Player Mode.

Thanks, I know, but not the same. I'm interested in the Battle Pad specifically.

How many fighters are unlocked at the start of the game?

I actually didn’t even check. Just went straight to Spirit mode. I think someone said it’s basically the original N64 roster at the start though.
