I appreciate what they managed to do here, but I'm not sure I'll pick it up. Retro gaming hasn't really turned me on a whole lot recently.
It's cool that they got some of the original creators back for the new levels. Plus, giving people the option to use the updated rendering or not is nice.

Just got the email this is available now. I'm going to download tonight and split time between this and Gears for the rest of the year. 20 bucks and I have so much bing credit saved up I won't really be spending anything on it. Excited to play the new content. "Come get some!".

I watched this on TWITCH and maybe I'm getting old...but it did absolutely nothing for me. And this comes from a diehard Duke fan who played it for hours and hours in a college computer lab and at home those 20 years ago. The graphics didn't seem all that improved and there wasn't any neat bells and whistles that wanted me to jump back in. Honestly, I wish they make DNF backwards compatible instead.

(Have XB1 physical copy)
My prior experience in Duke was the Saturn version and remembered how frustrating it was/is.
Completed this the other day, it was still hard and confusing but I had fun playing it. I'm thankful with the rewind feature that they added and it helped a lot during some sections. Loved the new level HIGH TIMES . wished it had all the previous DLC. Easy 1000GS and laughed multiple times, again.

Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Could Get Delisted Due to Legal Dispute
Bobby Prince, the composer who wrote the music for classic games such as Doom and Doom II, has filed a lawsuit against Gearbox, Randy Pitchford and Valve over alleged unpaid royalties from the game Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour.
Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour is a remake of 1996's Duke Nukem 3D, and was released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2016. The remake features Prince's 16 song soundtrack from the original Duke Nukem 3D. At the time, Prince claims to have had an agreement with the original developer of Duke Nukem 3D, Apogee, who paid him royalties of around a dollar for every copy sold. Apogee apparently only licensed Prince's work, so when Gearbox bought the rights for the Duke Nukem franchise in 2010, they did not acquire the music. Prince still claims ownership of the copyright for the songs and claims to have not been paid any royalties from Gearbox.
In a document submitted to the U.S. District Court - Eastern District of Tennessee, it states that Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox admitted that Prince owned the songs and that Gearbox had no license, but proceeded to use the music anyway without paying Prince royalties. Pitchford also refused to remove the music from the game.
The filing also claims that Pitchford said to Prince, "he would be taken care of" and that he would "do right" by Prince. However, the document claims that these were nothing more than false promises.
Prince also issued a Digital Management Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown request to Valve to have the game removed from Steam which was supposedly ignored by the company.
Gearbox, Randy Pitchford and Valve have 21 days to respond to the summons.
