Yeah, this is more likely then Nintendo being oblivious to demand for this.

Doubtful. They are masters of manipulating the market to create demand for their products.

Re: NES Classic Edition (30 games; 60 bucks; 11/11/2016)

I received my Raspberry Pi before the holiday weekend, so I got to spend it getting it loaded up with RetroPie and a bunch of games. It's pretty simple to use, once you get going with it. My one disappointment is the way Atari 5200 emulation works. Those are the games that I have the greater affinity for, but the emulator is a PITA. Basically, you have to have a keyboard hooked up and you can't launch any game directly from the RetroPie interface. It seems to be that way for all 5200 emulators though. For the Nintendo games I tried, it was great though! Baseball All-Stars, Tecmo Bowl, the various Mario Bro games, they all ran great!

Well I just bought Kirby's Adventure cart off eBay. I now officially have every game on this system and a wireless generation nex system. I'm out boys.

And now I have been pointed to a Tecmo Bowl update with 2016 rosters as well as an NCAA version. I am officially thrilled with "settling" for emulation!

Wait, what? Seriously? You own all 700+ licensed NES games?

I think he means every game on the NES Classic.
But otherwise... damn, son! We need pics!

edit: BTW, my brother finally ordered the AVS instead of this. He's probably going to do some cartridge hunting to pick up some of his favourites, in addition to an everdrive.

Right? And Kirby was the last one you needed? That's a $20 cart.

There are certain NES titles fetching thousands on eBay.

Dan is right, all 30 NES classic games . And a few more!

I will post some pics of my meager collection soon. When Kirby arrives of course!

Ah.

I do own around 60 SNES carts, all of them stone cold classics, no bullshit carts. So when the SNES classic console comes out, I doubt it will have a game I don't have, and I'm sure I'll have all the games that people will whine about not being included as well.

He won't regret it. Best video game related purchase I've made in a long time. I love that thing. I've used it more than my PS4 since it arrived. I've wondered how well the those multi-carts function on it. I already have all the NES ROMs on my PC so I should probably get something like an everdrive for curiosity's sake.

I regret selling my SNES and carts all those years ago. I had a great collection. Probably got nothing for it.

EDIT - damn the better SNES carts are going for $60 and up. Yikes.

I actually did sell my SNES and games in order to buy a PS1.

But it only took me a couple months to realize my mistake, and I was able to re-buy all the best games (along with instruction booklets!) soon after. Because at that time there were many mint SNES carts to be found, for a fraction of what they would be going for in just a couple years. At that time (late '90s), Nintendo would even send you out instruction books for games if you emailed them asking for some.

In grad school I had the NES, SNES, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Genesis and TG16. There were like 10 used stores around me that sold used carts for only a few bucks and even the prime games were only around $5-6 a piece. I would also check out yard sales and pick up games by the box full for $20 or so. When I graduated and transitioned into the workaday world, I sold pretty much all of it. Now that I have a few bucks, of course, I want it back. But I'm not going to spend $1k on SNES carts so here's hoping for a SNES classic.

What would be the odds of "Super Mario All Stars" making it into the Super NES Classic console? I've never seen that available in their virtual console.

Predicting what Nintendo will do or won't do is a fool's errand.

But you can get the disc for SMAS, that'll play on your Wii or Wii-U, for under $20 right now.

Can we get the DCU(?) or whatever it is from Target put in the OP or Wiki so we don't have to wade to find it? Seems like a perfect use of the Wiki feature.

You can also use the search feature on the Brickseek page to find the DCPI. Just type in NES Classic Edition. You'll get a bunch of hits but they all have the same DCPI number: 207-29-0180.

I've actually stopped checking for stock on this. I hadn't been gaming nuch at all and decided to start working on my backlog of PS4 games. Finished Uncharted 4 this past week and I'm on to Arkham Night. Won't need this anytime soon but I'll grab it if/when I see it.

If you want to find one at Target, you really have to check at 6-6:30 AM every morning, and if you find one, be in line before the doors open. That's what we did.

I think I've figured out that it's adding a link to the wiki that gives that error. I removed the http and added a space so it's not a link to force it to work, fwiw.

Edit to add: more experimentation, was able to remove the spaces to make it a link, appears to be just the "http://" that causes the wiki error
