How is it that the largest etailer in the world, a company who runs their own web services division allows their website to crash?

You would think of all sites Amazon could get this right. I was getting a completely different set of terms! Of course, still won't go into the cart.

Honestly they should have just given like a 4 hour window or something. That probably would have gone a little smoother.

Page won't even load up on my Chrome browser, but I managed to pull it on the iPad. Says it's not available. Lots of angry comments about how the page crapped out and wouldn't let anyone buy it.

This is the joystick I got on BB with the console. Box said work on NES classic and Will U. Reading at the customers review on Amazon look like I'm not the only one that can't get this to work.

I can't read the reviews because I also can't get the page to load but it's been interesting to watch the number of reviews go up (219 right now) and the number of stars go down (currently a solid two). Which is too bad, because you know nearly all of them are ripping on Nintendo and Amazon. People will give Amazon a tough time but we'd never think of walking into Target, seeing the empty shelf space, and getting angry at Target. This is about Nintendo's decision, which isn't great for consumers but mmmmmm, they are grinning from ear to ear right now at feeling so mmmmm relevant right now!

I was milling about before movie and there was this line at GameStop. Lady said they only got 4 or something. I'm just glad I have no interest. No one at Target though. Wonder if they got any at all...

I will wait if it becomes available online in 2017.

I hope but if not that is ok and I will just cherish the memories I had playing it in the 80's.

It is not a life necessity that I must have it again and pay a fortune for it or drive all over the Bay Area to find one.

The Amazon thing was a debacle. I had it up on Chrome, FF, IE, the app on my phone and chrome on my tablet. I could never check out. I'm wondering how anyone managed to do so. Ridiculous.

I don't know why people are so shocked, hasn't this been a re-occurrence for years for limited availability/deal items?

Not the issue. How the hell does the world's largest, most experienced e-tailer allow a system crash at the exact moment they knew people would be flooding the site for one specific item?

Yes, because they're clearly unrelated.

The same way other sites go down via DDoS attacks...

I don't quite understand your scruples. People who are paying these prices (if they are indeed paying it and it's not just scammers) know what they're getting into. If someone offered you a hundred bucks for a blu-ray you're selling, you're going to say no, you'll only take 20?

It would still sell out in the first few minutes and crash the site, unless you mean like staggered stock, which would just crash the site for longer.

The relevance is the big thing here. It's going to be one of the hot toys for Christmas, giving Nintendo a lot of publicity ahead of their next console launch. All for an emulator with a retro case and a hardcore base ticked off that the cords are too short. There are some people who are going to be fed up (but get one if they happen across one) but many more frothing at the mouth to get one.

For instance, I bet this little console gets a lot more publicity than PlayStation VR this xmas.

On a side note, Sega I would buy a good Genesis, Saturn, or Dreamcast emulator!

You have to picture Nintendo seeing the situation, sitting back, rolling their eyes back, huge grin, taking it all in: "Mmmmm..." Picture them thinking about the demand, uttering, "Mmmmm..." Licking their chops at the thought of how relevant they are this shopping season, closing their eyes tight, seeing dollar signs dancing in their heads, taking a deep breath, saying, "MMMMM!"

I'm not creepy. Nintendo is!
