Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)

I started playing just lying here in our hotel room bed and caught several Pokémon. Can't wait to get home and see what's there!

Just got back from a bigger park a few blocks away. Just in the one park there was 8 different Poke stops and 2 gyms. Something real weird about hundreds of kids, teenagers, and adults all yelling Pokemon locations at a park at 10 pm (in Arizona it's so hot during the days in the summer that people go out once it gets dark). There was an Onyx there that was really hard to find so people were going around telling people where it was located so they could get it. My wife's a teacher and school starts again next week and she is sure she'll be extra cool this year since the kids always love/are surprised when she's in to something they like.

On the one hand, my shitty neighborhood has only 2 Pokestops. On the other hand, one of them is a one minute walk away

I went to the next town over and spotted a few Pokestops. I parked and by the time I was done exploring the streets I found ten Pokestops  I can't begin to think how many are gonna be in Chicago on Sunday.

Hit LVL 5. I now have 17 Potions, 18 Revives, and 89 Pokeballs.

An app got people to go outside, that amazes me to no end

But yeah, everywhere I went this weekend there were a ton of people playing.

I'm not playing this, but I get a kick out of seeing clusters of people wandering around with their phones. :)

High probability that this will happen to me too and I'm way old for this game but I'm having fun.

I was able to download this game via the US iTunes Store and it works here in Canada.

We live right next to a park with a ton of Pokestops so my wife and I have been going at it pretty hard. Saturday we drove into the city for another reason and caught all kinds of Pokemon just driving around. It's not just kids, a lot of our friends are playing too.

I'm hooked like everyone else but I am already getting tired of typing in my login info. It seems like every time I get a chance to get in the car and hit some stops I can't get into the game anymore.

Went to Disneyland yesterday and it was crazy. A shit load Pokestops, and each Pokestop had a lure on it, so a nice stream of Pokemon kept popping up. Was able to get my Pokemon at the Haunted Mansion Gym, but that was shorted lived. Got a lot of XP, went from 10 to 14 during my time there. It felt like half the people at the resort were there just to play.

How's this game gonna hold up come winter? Will people even still be into it by then?

Yes.

Our kids go to preschool in a church and it was weird to see the church had one Pokestop but the cemetery on the next block has a Gym.

Work has three Pokestops and the nearest Gym is across the street at a similar work environment. Would've loved to have that be switched!

You think?

Michael Pachter, a long time industry analyst, who knows more about these things and their trends than we do, gives it maybe 4 months. Which is honestly still really good for a free-to-play game.

Do you have to get to level 5 in order to assemble your team? I have caught more than 6 Pokemon but I'm only at Level 3.

What's the over/under on the first Pokemon GO-related death in the US?

I'm going to say 3 weeks.

If you are on IOS, do NOT get the update. You can't login anymore after you do. Hopefully they fix this shit soon.

I think you in general are having issues with your login, what method are you using?

Maxflier 07-12-16 08:54 PM

Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)

The Pokemon Trainer Club, it might be specific to that method but once you are logged out (which is a regular occurence in this game) you cant log back in.

today we where stopped at a light on a 5 lane street and a guy 3 lanes off the sidewalk hopped out of the car and without looking to his right, he was looking towards the moving traffic that was no where near him, ran towrds the sidewalk and almost got clipped by a car turning right.

I got the update and the game is significantly improved. I don't get logged out any more and it hasn't crashed once.
