I still on the first Chapter/Section? since I am only playing it in small chunks.

Ran into a glitch/issue where I had to quit out: for some reason I suddenly could not attack using any weapon or even throw anything, all I could do was run around.

Hopefully when I start the game the next time, it is cleared up.

One thing I do like is that all your progress made in regards to XP, collectable and photos and such are saved even if you die. In a way, that's a bit of a cheat since you can just go kamikaze into a crowd of zombies without any real penalty for dying, but it definitely takes the pressure off and eliminates a lot of the frustration.

Did the other games let you keep you accrued XP if you died before your next checkpoint?

It's been awhile since I played the originals but if my memory is right it let you keep your experience points and levels gained but not your items.

Yes, 1 & 2(and mabe the two downloadable games) let you keep your XP but not your inventory.

Just wrapped it up. It's probably my favorite game on the console.

re: Dead Rising 4 - XB1/PC now; PS4 on 12/5/17

So after I replayed the first case due to the progress-halting bug at the end of it, the game played much, much better for the remainder. I had a couple times where I had to force quit the application and restart it due to freezing, but nothing like what I encountered my first time through the first case. All in all, it was a fun romp. I hope they mix the formula up a bit more significantly if they do another one, as the games are starting to feel pretty same-y, but it was still an enjoyable diversion. I know they added the exo-suit this go-round, but it didn't do much for me, as I thought it was more enjoyable to use the custom weapons. Even then, it got to the point where I'd have 4 or 5 standbys that I'd use 90% of the time because they were so effective. Like others have said, this is by far the easiest in the series. I felt over-powered for pretty much the whole game and didn't die once. I almost always play games on the default difficulty, but this is one where I wished I'd cranked it up a notch.

I will say, the way the game ended really soured me on it. Without giving away too much to those who haven't played it, you get an ending on the disc, but it's a fake out and if you want to see what really happens, you have to buy dlc. No thanks. I'll be trading mine in or selling it.

^^ Is there a difficulty setting? If so, I missed it.

I love this game. The ridiculous Xmas weapons are a bunch of fun -- especially the Xmas junk weapon.

The Exo suit feels WAY under-developed. By the time you find a power up for it, it's long gone.

They're adding one in a patch early this year, but there's not an option to change the difficulty right now.

I got the 6.8gb patch which added difficulty, but I'm already on the last chapter (hell, I think I beat the game). I'm literally at the mall just getting ready to leave with Vick and the other guy.

Has anybody played the DLC? Would you recommend it? I love this game... so I'm inclined to buy it regardless.

Ok, I actually finished the game... what a crock of bullshit. I will not buy the DLC and this game is going to the Best Buy trade-in bin. How despicable that you need the DLC to experience the true ending.

Well that took a turn

Personally I'm not surprised since it's Capcom, they've been known to do that in the past. I was pissed when they did the same thing with Asura's Wrath.

Yeah I was kind of surprised by that ending. Really disappointed with this game. It's not bad, but it also isn't great at all and feels like a downgrade from Dead Rising 3.

Coming to PS4 on December 5th. The new Capcom Heroes mode is coming to PC and the Xbox One as a free update then as well. Also, Dead Rising 4 is on the Xbox One X's list of enhanced games.

I completely forgot about this game

I'm a little surprised PS4 is getting this one after not getting Dead Rising 3. I guess that one was a real exclusive.

"Forgettable" is one word for it! I actually enjoyed playing Dead Rising 4 in a musou Saturday morning cartoon kind of way, but I absolutely recognize that it's not a great game.

"SHIT's GETTING SCIENCE"

Completed the campaign today, loved it! But damn it took me a while to finish . Took my time walking & searching every inch. Love that they took off the timer, so I was able to actually see everything in the game. And was able to get all blueprints and collectibles, just need to go back and finish some trials.

Play time: 60h 22m 36s
99% Story

+ No timer, able to roam anywhere
+ Skills tree
+ Exo suit
+ Food separate from other inventory. Weapons types separated

- No manual save
- lame vehicles
- no weapon locker

on to DLC

Good thing I bought the season pass for $5.00.

Frank Rising while cool, too damn short

I did have a good with MINI GOLF. Very addictive and fun.

Will do co-op & Capcom Heroes at a future day. I've played enough DR4!
