Well it's built on the Frostbite engine this year, which I have no idea what that means for the game, but apparently it's a big deal.

Doubt I will play it since it apparently only revolves around the Premier League, which I have zero interest in, but that looks pretty cool. Hopefully it's done better than what 2K gave us in their NBA game.

La Liga signs exclusive deal with FIFA 17
FIFA 17 will be "the only La Liga official videogame", as both publisher Electronic Arts and La Liga ambassador Fernando Morientes announced at Santiago Bernabéu during the game's official presentation.
The deal means that (just as is already happening with the English Premier League) EA gets the exclusive licensing rights on the teams, players and stadiums from Spain.
Inevitably, this announcement will have eyes turning to Pro Evolution Soccer 2017, because for the upcoming season Konami will now have to negotiate rights individually with each club. With that in mind it's currently unknown how many Spanish clubs with 'real' players that PES 2017 will include at launch.
Despite the new deal EA won't comment on how many Spanish stadiums fans can expect to see in FIFA 17. Both FIFA 15 and 16 ended up with just four arenas (Nou Camp, Bernabéu, Mestalla and Vicente Calderón), but with the new deal footie-lovers can now hope to see Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán (Sevilla) or the brand new San Mamés (Bilbao) included in the game.
La Liga ambassador Fernando Morientes stated his opinion that "we have the world's best league and EA are the best with football games." Nicknamed "El Moro", the former Madrid, Mónaco, Liverpool and Valencia player, showed that he's not just good with the feet, beating EA Sports marketing manager Yeray Romera in a hands-on FIFA 17 match. Naturally he played Real Madrid.

Some of you may have wondered why constant FIFA cover star Lionel Messi was not on the cover of FIFA 17, with that distinction instead going to Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus. Well, this latest announcement from Konami - developers of the Pro Evolution Soccer series - may well have something to do with that as they have partnered with Messi's club, the Spanish giant, FC Barcelona.

If you don't mind doing some trade ins, you can get FIFA 17 pretty cheap. Next week, Best Buy has a promo going on where they will give you a $15 gift card for FIFA 16 plus a $10 coupon good for FIFA 17. Today for their DOTD, you can get FIFA 16 on XB1 for $8 after GCU. You can trade in up to 3 copies. So you spend $24 buying 3 copies, and trade them next week for $45. On top of that, you would still get one $10 coupon. So FIFA 17 would be $48 after GCU, subtract the $10 coupon, and you are paying $38 for a game with $45 in gift cards, leaving you with $7 left
Not too much work to get a game for $17 total out of pocket on release week

Maybe I am missing something, but where is the $17 out of pocket on release week coming from? From what you wrote, it sounds like you don't need to pay anything when you get the game.
Also worth mentioning that Fifa 17 is eligible for the $10 RZ pre-order bonus.

After reading that again, I have no idea either
If everything goes right, you should end up with $7 left on the gift card. I'm not sure how the $10 reward zone certificate would work with the $10 coupon. I guess you could always just pre order in store?

Not a bad demo, but my issue with biggest issue with Fifa remains in it. I play using the end cameras as I like to play as if I'm on the pitch and not watching from the stands. Issue with Fifa and its been there since last gen, the framerate takes a dump when you play from this view. I guess I must be in the tiny minority that plays that way, since I don't see people commenting on this.
Otherwise it looks like a nice game, but...
Despite the lack of licensing, this years PES is fantastic. Gameplay feels smoother this year. Despite the great gameplay it's had in years, PES player movement always seemed a tad robotic.
Patch updated the rosters with all the latest transfers. Having Liverpool FC fully licensed doesn't hurt
Plays smooth as butter from the end view too!
9.5 from IGN, for what it's worth.

Re: FIFA 17: September 27, 2016.
Ugh, once again I get drawn into buying this. Whatever that story mode is called is what did it to me as I'm seeing tons of great reviews for it. Every year I say this is the year I'm going to try out PES and I have yet to actually do it.
Maybe once I inevitably get annoyed with FIFA, PES will have dropped in price so I can justify buying 2 football games. The missing licenses is just brutal though. I wish these two games could just have a baby that has both their strengths.

Fifa will always be worth still buying me just for Pro Clubs alone. That is one thing PES needs to get around to incorporating.

I decided to try to the PS4 version this year, since I end up getting the game free with EA Access in the Xbox One.
Let's see if I see a difference online.
The last year I've doing more of Pro Clubs. So that will be my benchmark.

Can you or anyone explain why u like this game?
I have PES and love it but bought this for online and I don't get it at all.
The AI literally reads you the milli sec u switch players. It's impossible to tackle. Ea has no idea how to program AI.

Yeah, the psychic AI has always been incredibly annoying.
I like it because of Pro Clubs mainly. I can't get that experience with PES.

Nice having so many leagues and stadiums.
Just such a difference for me with playing so much PES the last couple years.

I haven't played PES so maybe it's a case of not knowing what I'm missing. I really need to play it but I just can't justify paying for both games right now.
Edit: Well screw it, after posting this looked around and found PES at $27. Time to find out what the difference.

I'm getting a bit more used to Fifa, but I'm not sure I will ever love it. I spend way too much time trying to buy players in FUT

Hope you like it. For me it'll still be my go to sit down and play a single match game. Plus as I mentioned, I love playing from the end camera view and that just is plain bad in Fifa.
