The flaw they are discussing story-wise is essentially one of the main antagonists not having a motivation for several plot development point he alone triggers. It's alarming if they didn't think people would notice that.

I'm on chapter 13 now. Some chapters just fly by. One I think was just a quick battle.

I'm enjoying it though.

Sometimes when the story gets to be a bit too much, I just start skipping them anyways. I want to play a damn game and not watch a movie.

This is pretty much how I'm playing this. I'm at Chapter 4 and haven't got a clue what's going on, and that's just fine by me. I've only tried playing a FF game once before and was totally lost from the get go, so I expected this.

Even though I still think the combat is...weird, I think I'm starting to actually get the hang of it (15 hours later), and I'd rather be out doing hunts than sitting through a cut scene.

I've never understood why people bitch about long cut scenes in games. it's a staple of the Final Fantasy universe, and they aren't even epically long like they used to be.

By skipping them, you may miss out on key information, lore, or other plot related events. A new boss could show up during the cut scene and you'd never know why or how he got there.

It just seems silly to me. If you want to play a game with no story and just fight, go play Street Fighter.

I mean people can do what they want and if that's the way they like to play then go for it but yeah unless I'm just slogging through a game to get through it I never skip cutscenes.

I would never skip cutscenes in a game, especially in an RPG. I think that's weird to me too.

If I really want a long, drawn out story, I will read a book or watch a mini series.

Then why play a Final Fantasy game? They are the epitome of long drawn out stories especially the modern ones.

To have fun, see the cool places they create for us to go to while using the spectacular weaponry and attacks in battle. I don't mind cut scenes, but I don't want to spend several minutes watching scenes for every bit of game play. I will say that this has not been the case so far for me with this game. There doesn't seem to be an overwhelming amount of scenes in this game.

Wrapped this one up. Once the credits rolled all I could think was A) good riddance and B) they really should've called this Final Fantasy Mystic Quest 2.

I quite enjoyed Mystic Quest when I played through it back when it came out.

That's unfortunate.

You're the kind of person that gets up during the scenes in movies when there's no explosions. Lol.

Uh, no but thanks for assuming. I'm the kind of person that just thinks about other things when exposition goes on for far too long or becomes pretentious.

Well, isn't it just a tad bit pretentious? I enjoy the games, for the most part, but some of the story in it and many other games just goes a bit far.

Skip after the first play through. Of course. Or if you died and don't want to sit through it again. Or maybe if you've read the subtitle and the voice actor is slow.

I still in Chapter 3 can't stop doing these sidequests and monsters hunting.

Seriously, I thought the magic in this game pretty much sucks. Wish there was a bestiary lists in the game so I can know what drop I might need for some quests.

Re: Final Fantasy XV Discussion Thread (Sep 30th, 2016 / PS4, Xbox One)

I went through a dungeon last night that took me almost 4 hours and every scrap of patience I had in me. I was taken there by a side quest and decided to see if I could get through it. Probably a bit under leveled.

My biggest complaint is the hunt system. No easy way to see where there are hunts you can accept without warping from place to place. End up looking at loading screens more than anything.

I keep hearing that it's okay, and preferable, to delay taking on side-quests. Sounding from people's experience that is accurate.

Re: Final Fantasy XV Discussion Thread (Sep 30th, 2016 / PS4, Xbox One)

Yeah, doesn't seem like there's any real benefit to trying to do all side quests early other than over-leveling. I've done all I can though. I'm the type who can't move on to a new area when I see so much still to do. I've gotten most side quest chains to the point where I need to further the story to continue.

Yeah I have only focused on campaign and very little side quest. Very fun so far.
