Mega Man Legacy Collection (PS4, XB1, Win, 3DS) - 8/25 digital, early 2016 physical

Even though Mighty No. 9 has been pushed back to next year, you can still get your Mega Man fix in a couple of weeks:

The game will be available digitally across North America and Europe starting August 25, 2015 for USD14.99/ EUR14.99 / GBP11.99 on PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC, and early 2016 on the Nintendo 3DS hand-held system. More details regarding the Nintendo 3DS release will be confirmed at a later date.
The Legacy Collection began as a digital-only product, but after its strong reception at E3 and across the community, we're quite pleased to announce physical versions for Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo 3DS will arrive early 2016 in North America for $29.99. We’ll have more details about the physical versions at a later date.
This collection includes the first six Mega Man games, an NES Remix-style challenge mode, a music player with north of a hundred songs, and a high-res archive of concept art, production art, unused Robot Master designs, etc. It's worth noting that these are new recreations, not emulations. (You can even play in widescreen or enable CRT-style filters, if you want!)

Lots and lots more here.

I feel like this should include 9 and 10, since they have the same retro feel as the original 1-6.
Still, for $15, this is pretty sweet.

That's a really great deal. I'll get that on release for sure.

I'll get this somehow. I'd like a physical copy but half the price for the digital versions is a good deal. The NES games were some of my favorite so I'm happy just getting the first six. Never played beyond the sixth one actually.

This explains why those (terrible) PS1 ports are in the summer sale. Get them sold while you can!

I have the PS2 compilations and have no...scratch that, very little desire to have yet another compilation of these games. Its rehash of rehash plain and simple. Maybe when the digital hits $10. Where is a sheep emoticon when you need one?

I think I'll wait for the 3DS version. I really wNt this portable. Too bad there isn't a Vita version.

I'm thinking access to the music (Mega Man 2 - Metal Man level) will be justification for me.

Those early games are so difficult though. I can't imagine I'll be any better at them now lol.

It's funny thinking how my skills have degraded over time. I played Mega Man 2 from start to finish more than any other game growing up, and I remember being crushed when I played Mega Man 3 at a friend's place and beat it effortlessly in one sitting. (I wanted to buy MM3 before that, but after finding it insultingly easy, I felt like there was no reason to bother.) I picked them up again on the 3DS a lifetime later and had my ass kicked left and right. I don't know what happened!

That's the thing that stings me when I hear complaints about game difficulty. Even modern difficult games are, by and large, way easier than titles from 25 years ago.

only the first 6 games w/ bs content? Capcom sure knows how to get every damn penny from a fan. I'll stay w/ my MM collection game from the PS2 era. Add in that I also have the MMX one too. Too hard to include it all, Capcom?

That's my fear as well - the timing and accuracy skills you had to have then have dulled in me!

Great point. The versions on the VC would have save states. That might make them more compelling.

Bear in mind that these are recreations on a new engine using the original assets, not emulation. More time and care went into this than usual. (That said, I wish we could've seen some of the post-NES games too.)

Even if the games were just being directly ported to work with the current gen consoles and not recreations I wouldn't think $15 for the six games is a bad deal personally.

I'm more of a fan of the Mega Man X series, frankly.

Picked this up this morning and streamed it to my Windows 10 machine instead of working. Everything worked great! It's so nice to have this collection, even if I already had everything emulated on the same machine.

Forgot this was coming out. I'd rather have a physical copy but I might just download the digital tonight.

I forgot how hard these games actually are. I played the first one and got my ass handed to me. I could barely make it through any of the stages so I gave up. Played the second game and its still pretty challenging but I was able to beat Flash Man and Wood Man.

Check online to see what the bosses are weak to. Then you can one hit them.

MM8 was so easy compared to MM9. I had forgotten how hard MM was till MM9 came out. I really wished they'd go back to that visual style. I LOVED MM8's look.

I might get this collection one day but all the bells and whistles included... it's still too high for essentially games we've all owned before.

I suppose if you had nothing to do but sit at home and play Mega Man all day for weeks on end you'd probably be just as good at it these days.

Does it come with insurance for when I throw my phone against the wall trying to use touch controls on these games?
