Funny enough I just made a purchase request through our local library for this game and it was denied. I'm not really sure why, since they carry dozens of other M rated games. I recently rented COD Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1 from them to play through the campaigns. They did however accept the purchase requests for Steep and The Last Guardian. Is there anything in this game that is really worse then some of the other M rated games out there?

The Deluxe Edition is on sale this week for both the Xbox One and the PS4. While it's still $44.99 on the PS4, it's half off at $29.99 on the Xbox One.
Is it worth grabbing the Deluxe Edition at that price?

IMO, it's worth 30 bucks for just a standard edition. I logged tons of hours in to the game. There were some glitches and the game did get "tired" by the end, but the story was really good.
I didn't like it as well as the other Mafia games but I'm glad I played it.

I found it repetitive as hell. I might revisit it some day but it didn't hold my interest for very long... certainly not at $30.

I picked up the deluxe edition when Best Buy had it on sale. I want to say it was $32 after GCU. I figured it was worth it with all of the story DLC.

It took a year after picking it up, but I finally started playing this. Like others have said, the gameplay is fairly generic, but the story and actors are pretty good.

Has anyone played through the DLC? I'm hoping the story content in that is just as good.

I wrapped this one up today. It's a shame how disappointing it was, because it had real potential. The story and acting was great. The missions were soooo repetitive and and shooting mechanics weren't great. I also thought that the DLC was better than the main game itself, so I'm glad I stuck with it and played through that.

I also had a few glitches that booted me from the game, which shouldn't be an issue over a year after release. And it's a fucking shame when a game of this size doesn't offer fast travel. That's just unacceptable.

There were other small stupid things that shouldn't be an issue that also happened. Like when people start shooting at your car and cops see it. Then the cops start shooting you too when you didn't even do anything, just ignoring the other people shooting at you.

Overall I would give the game a 5.5 and the DLC an 8.

I also recently knocked this game off my unplayed pile of shame. Beat the main storyline a few days ago, now going through the DLC.

Yes, the missions are pretty repetitive, but I dug the story and characters. There are alot of little details that make it great.

Give this a solid 7 out of 10.
