Just reached the main city and the AI so far is not great. The city looks fantastic though. I see a 9gb update is already out for this game.

Yeah it plays very similar to the first game. Still a fair bit of loading, but not as bad as he first game. So far I am killing anyone that gets in my way. It's a great looking game, but so far not feeling like it has much depth (same as he first game). Still solid action so far.

The one thing I dislike about the game is that when you are not crouching down, you sound like a horse clopping around. It is really loud. I am playing as Emily.

Finishing up the first game before buying this, I overheard an NPC say that the new regent (an evil character) "will make us great again". This is from a 4 year old game.

I am absolutely LOVING this game. Playing as Corvo (not sure how different the game is playing as Emily). My approach is to sneak as much as possible, but if that doesn't work out, oh well/kill them all. I really enjoy the combination of gameplay, stealth and combat, and the rune skills & upgrades are sweet. I'm about 11 hours in and only on Mission 4 (Clockwork Mansion--very creepy). Will definitely replay as the other character.

i played a bit of the first, enjoyed it, i believe, but dropped it for one reason or another. i want to get back to it, but such backlog. this new game seems to improve on the mechanics, wonder if best to just jump into this one when the price lowers later on...

I think i am going to enjoy returning to this game when i have a chance. So far though sneeking around has not been my strategy. I have gone in for kills on everyone that crosses my path.

You should play the first one because the first one is awesome.
I doubt it really matters enough to determine if you'd enjoy this one or not, though.

I loved the first one, but I'm finding myself falling out of interest with this one at times. I think I'm too obsessed with getting the 'no detection' goal on my first playthrough and keep resetting, which ruins the flow of the game. I probably just need to relax and let it roll the first time through and enjoy the game.

I'm a little pissed and looking for suggestions if anyone has any.
So over the weekend I was at Target and saw that they still had some copies of the Limited Edition that came with the Definitive Edition for PS4. So I price matched Amazon for $25.99. Last night I opened it up and it came with two inserts. One was the Definitive Edition code that expired last month and the other was some DLC for the LE that expires in November 2017. So unfortunately one worked and the other didn't. I'm not really sure why you would have two different inserts with different expiration dates, but I guess that was Bethesda's bright idea.
I've been emailing back and forth with their customer support people and after they were originally telling me it was for pre-orders only (which obviously that's not the case since it can still be found in stores 7 months after the fact), they are not willing to issue a replacement code.
Any other ideas of what I can do? I thought about reaching out to Sony, but I don't think there is much they can do either. And obviously Target won't take it back since it's been opened.

Take the money you saved by waiting for months to buy this and use it to buy a copy of the first game. What else is there to do?

I actually have the same expiration dates, too, but I screwed up by completely forgetting that there was an expiration date for the digital game, too. I was able to redeem the DLC, but not the first Dishonored game.
Edit: In tiny fine print on the back of the box, it says, "Digital copy of Game. Dishonored Definite Edition code must be redeemed by May 1st, 2017." Going to shoot a quick email to Bethesda. Looks like we're both out of luck.
Also, I got the limited edition from Best Buy, and they're still selling the same item.

Expiration codes suck.
Customer Service: You should have redeemed it / bought it last month... suck it!
Maybe it was so cheap because they know the codes are expiring...

Just called Sony and they said they'll either change the expiration date or give me an entirely new code if I provide them proof that I bought the game.
I think they would be willing to help you if you explain the situation. Best Buy rejected my request for help and Bethesda hasn't responded to me yet.
