I went ahead and got this. It's pretty damn fun. I really liked the first two Dead Island games and this one feels like a refined version of those. The LA setting is a good twist. It's pretty difficult tho. I've died probably 20 times already and only through 3 chapters. It's worth the price to me, love these games.

Just bought it from GameFly. As someone who was famously down on Deep Silver's last game Saints Row, and as someone who typically hates zombie games, I have to say, this game is fantastic and so much fun. It just keeps moving, is hilarious, looks good, and most importantly isn't very hard, and if you die, it's a quick restart from a generouscheckpoint with little to no penalties. I get so frustrated with zombie games that are all about sneaking around and avoiding confrontations. This is just about killing as many zombies in as many creative ways as possible.
I think the game bombed, which is a shame. It's very solid and I bet it's a blast in co-op mode.

The numbers weren't stratospheric or anything, and I'm not sure what kind of legs the game had after launch, but it seemed like it performed above expectations. I haven't ordered a copy for myself yet, but I'm sure I will when the Black Friday-type sales start going.

Finished the game today. 39 hours in. Didn't really have any issues with difficulty until the final Boss. Once I enabled different Skills so I could rack up a second Fury, he wasn't hard at all either. I had a blast. It's just such a fun game with enough variety that it never becomes just a button masher, no matter how strong you or your weapons get, you still have to mix up your strategies and weapons. That's just smart game design. This game is a winner. I am not sure if I will come back for side missions but glad I got it out of the way before BG3 and Starfield hit this weekend.
