Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
After all the hype on the new Star Wars trailer last night, should've saw this coming....
Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition Price Announced - $120 gets you the game, all of its DLC, and more.
Included with the Ultimate Edition is the main game, its DLC pass, and Deluxe Edition content, which includes five items: Ion Grenade, Ion Torpedo, Han Solo's DL-44 blaster, Ion Shock emote, and the Victory emote
The Deluxe Edition sells for $70 on its own, while the DLC pass (which comes with at least four expansions) goes for $50, meaning the Ultimate Edition is really just a convenience bundle that saves you from buying everything separately. There are no extra perks listed on the Ultimate Edition's product pages.
Xbox One owners with an EA Access membership will save 10 percent on all Battlefront content, meaning they can expect the following price points:
•Star Wars Battlefront -- $54
•Star Wars Battlefront DLC Pass -- $45
•Star Wars Battlefront Deluxe Edition -- $63
•Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition -- $108

Star Wars Battlefront's roster of heroes and villains just got a little bit bigger. Jamie Keen, the November title's lead designer, revealed in an update to the PlayStation Blog that Princess Leia and Han Solo will be on-hand to fight alongside your hero. Emperor Palpatine will also lend his abilities as one of the Empire's forces to be reckoned with.
The post goes into each character's abilities and style of play. Leia is geared toward support, while Han is an offensive gunslinger, just like in the movies.
Keen referred to Palpatine as his "personal favorite character" in Battlefront. The deceptively powerful villain serves up his damaging Force Lightning move while serving as the Dark Side's support Villain character.
Star Wars Battlefront recently completed a beta, which we shared our impressions of last week. The PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One title will launch Nov. 17.

Yeah, I ultimately decided to hold off. I am a subscriber to EA Access and I will have CoD to tide me over for a while. The more I thought back to my time playing the beta it just didn't leave me wanting to play more.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
I am kind of not 100% sure. It just felt kind of meh. Looking back there are a few items that sort of bothered me but I feel like exciting gameplay could make up for them... but didn't.
-The complaints about spawning and just dying were pretty spot on. I'm not exactly a newbie in FPS genre and that still happened a lot. I feel like spawn locations were the main thing.
-There was no short range game. In CoD or even Halo there was always a sniper range game, mid-range rifle game, and a short shotgun range game. In this one I feel like both maps were really open and only allowed for long range with a hint of mid-range.
-It felt like Battlefield without the bullet drop - which is what made the long range satisfying to me.
Overall it just felt a touch empty and a little unsatisfying.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
To be fair Miyu, this is Battlefield with a Star Wars skin so the big open maps are expected. I had plenty of short game action when in the base on Hoth. That and their weapons are firing lasers/particle beams, so why would there be bullet drop?

I haven't bought an online shooter in a few years but I plan on picking up either this or CoD this year. I guess I'll wait for reviews before making my decision. I don't think I've played a Battlefield game since the first few on PC (1942 and Vietnam?). I remember having a lot of fun with them back in the day.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
I haven't had fun with CoD in a couple years. Advanced Warfare did nothing for me, but after playing the beta for Blops III, all I wanted was to play more. I'm looking forward to both.
BF1942 will always be the best, lol. I clocked SO many hours playing that game.

I totally get all that. Especially the bullet drop thing. However that just makes it a little less fun for my playstyle and interest. I would hazard a guess that some of the popularity of CoD is that it allows for all three "ranges" of gameplay (though it leaves vehicles out entirely so is missing that style of gameplay).

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
Did you try out the other game type available during the beta? Being a capture the point type gameplay, I found myself in a lot of close combat.
Either way, I know you are a shotgun CoD guy, just like myself, so I get it. It takes me a round or two to adjust when I jump between CoD and Battlefield.
