This feels a lot more like CoD than AW did for sure.

One problem for me so far is map rotation. Seems like I'm playing the same 3 or 4 maps over and over. I'm pretty sure there's one map I've played one time since getting the game.

EDIT: Just looked up the maps, and I guess I'm wrong, but it still feels like there aren't enough. Can't wait for the DLC.

The maps are very disappointing. I can't stand the jungle park map at all.

Definitely considering finishing SP, selling it and going back to AW.
It just moves to damn slow. I feel like I'm dragging ass whether I'm on the wall or running on the surface.

AW kept you on your toes because fuckers could pop out from anywhere thanks the Exo Suits. With this one, you just sit and wait for someone to come around a corner.

Pick 10 is a bitch.

It feels a little slower, but I don't know if I would characterize it as that slow. I am someone who runs and guns. I am sprinting and wallrunning all over. Play the specialist with the speed burst and it is even worse.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Treyarch; 11/2015, PS3/PS4/360/XO/PC)

Double XP weekend started last night.

I got in some killer games with some folks from here. Thanks Polo for letting me crash your group.

Also, I am trying to unlock the last body armor for the Outrider and it is infuriating. Get two rapid kills of people discovered via the vision pulse. Such crap. Because if there is a UAV it doesn't count. If you saw them on your screen before the pulse it doesn't count. I have played probably 20 rounds and have one. Super obnoxious.

And has anyone prestiged yet? What level do you prestige? I just hit 50 so assume it goes to 60 or something.

I kind of hate the speed boosts, wall runs and double jumps, but am enjoying the game more than I anticipated.

Complete the level 55 twice.

Technically, once you hit LVL 55, you just have to progress as if you were to hit LVL 56. Once you complete the XP, you're able to Prestige.

I used my permanent unlock on the Firebreak specialist. Regretting that decision.

But hey, at least I have a single gun at Max Prestige with all the camos. And fuck the Long Shot camo challenge.

I permanently unlocked Scavenger because I love spamming the map with trip mines & shock charges, and the ability to shoot down unlimited UAVs and other things with the Black Cell.

Yup, that Vision camo is horrendous. It's not bad enough that it doesn't last that long, but I hate that specialist perk in general since they know they have been tagged, which in some cases makes it harder to actually kill them.

For those who are far more familiar with the COD games of past...how is Advance and Ghosts? I never picked up either and have played this mainly the campaign and some MP....I do like the Nightmare Campaign though; nice twist. I think Ghosts will be cheap this weekend and not sure about Advance but worth a play?

Ghosts is great if you've ever thought about putting a shotgun into your mouth. It takes all of the worst aspects of previous Call of Duty games and puts it all into a single game.

I enjoyed Advanced Warfare. I know the game had its share of haters, but I thought it evolved the franchise from where Black Ops 2 left it in both terms of campaign and multiplayer.

Yeah, Ghosts is widely considered to be the worst CoD, by far.

Advanced Warfare > Ghosts

AW Exo Zombies > BLOPS3 Zombies

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Treyarch; 11/2015, PS3/PS4/360/XO/PC)

Strangest thing.

Soon after I bought Blops III, my son and I played a couple of games of split-screen co-op -- both multiplayer and zombies -- which filled the entire screen of his 50" TV.

A few weeks later, we attempted to play split-screen again but this time there were black bars on each side of the screen and the game was pretty much unplayable (poor frame rate, tiny HUD, illegible text). Googled it discovered that this seems to be the only way to play split-screen co-op. (Fiddling with TV and COD settings didn't accomplish anything.)

BUT, we seemed to have played a couple of games in full-screen just a month or so ago. Am I imagining that?

Anyone get split-screen to function in a playable way?

(An aside, are there even any "couch co-op" games still on the market? Sent Far Cry 4 back to Amazon once I learned I couldn't play it with my son. And apparently Halo 5 also lacks split screen capability.)

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Treyarch; 11/2015, PS3/PS4/360/XO/PC)

I wrapped up the campaign last night on hardened difficulty. There were some fun levels here and there but the "story" was a mess. It's funny going back to look at trophies afterwards and seeing only 10% of people have played through the campaign and only 3% on hardened or above. So I guess we'll see a multiplayer only version next year as well on PS3 & 360. Zombie mode was OK, but that's getting a little old as well. Overall, I thought Advance Warefare was a better package.

Had not played Black Ops III in quite a while but I renewed my PSN membership and got back into it and I suck. I also forgot that I have not bought the season pass yet. I'll have to learn what I have unlearned.

I like the addition of Groups. I can find people to party up with without having to add them as friends.

Started playing ground wars and those rock and level you up really fast. Domination and Safeguard rock.

I'm almost to 10th prestige (yes, I have no life, lol).

Is there a DVDTalk group? There should be. How many people on here are still playing? I bought the season pass and don't plan on getting Infinite Warfare, so this game will last me a while.

Considering I'm the only one bumping and commenting on this thread for the most part - I don't think there is.

I didn't get the season pass and am on the fence about spending the $50, because I do plan on getting Infinite Warfare.

New Contracts will be available 6/14 along with the chance to unlock the Black Jack character from the Black Market. Looks neat!
