Yeah, it was pretty good. I had a couple gripes though.

- The specialist's genders. Depending on your style of play, you may be forced to play as a gender opposite of your own.

- I earned a RAPS, and the ship was shot down before a single ball dropped. Lame.

- I miss the way capping flags in Domination worked from AW.

- Colors were off on my gun paint jobs. Red looked pink.

There may have been others. Overall it's pretty good though, but I'm not sure there's enough new to make me buy it at launch instead of Battlefront. A little disappointed the Black Ops franchise went so futuristic. Feels a bit like Destiny.

The final DLC Reckoning maps are live for the PS4 and they're much better than the last one. I even recognized one of the maps that was in the actual regular single player campaign.

I'm glad that BLOPS 3 makes shooting down UAVs is a real thing again...

I'm on mobile, but I second drift0r's comments after playing the beta:

http://youtu.be/p7mI8ppIeDE

The lack of Flinch was nearly a deal breaker for me, especially with the game's low TTK.

When wasn't it? If anything it is WAY too easy to do it in Blops3. Those things are enormous! I was taking them down within 5 seconds of being up.

It seems near impossible to even find the UAVs in the sky in AW.

Hmm, I find them fairly easy in most levels but Instinct (with all the trees). They leave such a long contrail. Admittedly, they're about 100 times easier to find in Blops3. Not to mention the rocket launcher locks on in about half a second.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Treyarch; 11/2015, PS3/PS4/360/XO/PC)

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Won't Have a Campaign on Xbox 360 & PS3

Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 users looking forward to sinking their teeth into Call of Duty: Black Ops III's campaign may be sorely disappointed, as Activision has announced that the old-gen version of the game won't ship with a campaign mode.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is a truly next-generation experience designed from day one to harness the full potential of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Black Ops 3 pushes the boundaries of the franchise to new levels across all modes of play on next generation hardware," said Activision.

Developers Beenox and Mercenary Technology have been striving to cram as much of Black Ops 3 into the PS3 and Xbox 360 version as possible, but the campaign portion of the game simply won't made the cut, due to the "ambitious scope" of the game's co-op.

"The Black Ops 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature Multiplayer and Zombies gameplay only, not Campaign," Activision confirmed. "The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware."

Acti went on to note that the multiplayer experience will remain largely uncompromised, missing only the Weapon Paint shop and eSports tools, while the 1940s film noir inspired 'Shadows of Evil' Zombies mode will feature in its entirety.

Should you still choose to pick up the PS3 or Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on 6th November, you'll also receive a bonus download for the first Call of Duty: Black Ops game for free.

It's weird to pull it so close to release, I imagine they tried hard to port it and it just wasn't working well. It should be a lot cheaper then just a $10 discount too.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Treyarch; 11/2015, PS3/PS4/360/XO/PC)

I had this game and Star Wars Battlefront on my list for November...leaning SWB. But after playing the beta I'll probably get COD now. Looking at the game overall it will offer far more and probably a longer re-play value with SP, 4-plyr co-op, more customization and various MP modes. I enjoyed the MP in the beta but not so to where it's 100% of the game 4-6 days a week. Below are some updates and bits of info from Treyarch

From Gamepur......http://www.gamepur.com/news/20695-co...offline-2.html

CoD: Black Ops III Info Blowout From Oct 9 Stream: "4-player Splitscreen Offline, 2 Player Online" & More

•New map called Redwood has been announced
•Specialist customizations are to be "chunky"/very drastic and noticeable
•Specialist customizations are to be specific and unique for each specialist
•Specialists will level up
•Specialists have some kind of deep, unlockable story. "...like Baseball cards..."
•9th specialist named Firebreak with his "Purifier" (flamethrower) and stunning "Heat Wave" that also takes out equipment
•New "Red Dot Sight"
•New hit markers have also been shown, with what appears to be AW-like kill markers.
•The new hit markers didn't appear when killing enemies with the Purifier.
•Get a look at the symbol when you have the enemy flag in CTF
•Firebreak is apparently intended good for objective gameplay and clearing rooms.
•Specialists initially designed after non-COD heroes, such as wizards and warriors, then adapted for COD. e.g. Nomad is a Druid (can conjure nature)
•Tweet with #BO3Fridays to ask questions
•Theater confirmed (28:23), social elements improved for accessibility, overall improved for controllers.
•Prestige level is 55 with 10 prestiges with "something particularly special after that"
•More to do after final prestige
•Raid has been mentioned a lot, but a cannot confirm, cannot deny for its return.
•News for "reimaginings" to come "soon", Raid almost implied to be included.
•Reimagined maps are difficult because of the new movement system
•Nuk3town still very nuketown-y, but not exactly the same.
•Zombies and Single-Player are 4-player split-screen offline and 2-player split screen online. Like BOII
•Changelog posted to PlayStation "...wasn't the complete list"
•Spawn system has been "aggressively" worked on, with specifics from the Beta.
•Definitions of "spawn trap" necessary and very specific
•Recoil will be changed for some guns
•By design gun, recoil should be generally "low"
•Expect more frequent changes for BOIII than previous blops titles.
•Offline bots confirmed
•Taunts/Gestures. Part of specialist customization. Can be negative or positive. Can be activated in Top 3 players at the end of a match. "...we have some really interesting long term plans for [taunts]"(41:31) Top player on the winning team gets special line/animation. During this, others can perform their gestures and once the top player's taunt is done, s/he can do his/her own gestures.
•"Top Scorer" screen at the end of a match "rebranded" to "Winners' Circle"
•Hardcore is confirmed. Like previously
•"...we're not ignoring the hardcore guys."
•Bonus playlist to house game modes like Most Pit and Ground War + overview of lists
•Diamond camo confirmed
•"Hypothetically" there's something past diamond

I'm in the same boat. After the SW beta, I feel I want something a little deeper. I like Battlefront, but not sure how it would hold up.

After the MP bore of Advanced Warfare and like other said the disaster which is Battlefront, I am now thinking about picking this up when it was not even on my radar before.

To think I am looking forward to a Treyarch COD title...

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Treyarch; 11/2015, PS3/PS4/360/XO/PC)

I had an absolute blast with COD: World At War which Treyarch also did. The 4-player co-op campaign was one of the best right along with Gears and Halo (played on the 360 at the time) experience wise. The various locations and missions were a great addition and I actually liked to replay them not to mention at the time visually it was stunning. I haven't played any COD titles in the last three years and the fact this one seems to really be built with Current Gen in mind has me wanting to return.

I'm getting Battlefront regardless but I know CoD will keep me playing thru next November while Battlefront will have me playing, sporadically, thru maybe Xmas.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Treyarch; 11/2015, PS3/PS4/360/XO/PC)

There is a really good article up at Gamespot titled....

Choice Is Everything In Black Ops III Campaign Mode

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/cho.../1100-6431351/

They talk to Jason Blundell the producer about all the extra things one can do and all the different choices like taking down foes you have. But they also ask about campaign in COD where as others are ditching it and he makes the comment....

Blundell insists, however, that campaign remains a vital part of Call of Duty going forwards. "My job is to push the current-gen consoles as far as I can. When I heard that an old-gen version was going to be made, and found out the things that would have to be cut in order for it to work I was fully behind Activision's decision to remove it," he says.

"You say that fewer people are playing campaigns these days, but our metrics say different. This was an active topic at Treyarch, until our numbers showed us that, regardless of what you read on forums, players spend a good amount of time in all modes. I'll say this, and this is my personal view, the death of storytelling and the death of campaign is the death of society. As a medium, we have to tell stories. For Black Ops, it's absolutely essential to continue the art of storytelling."

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (Treyarch; 11/2015, PS3/PS4/360/XO/PC)

Got an email from Amazon saying that since I pre-ordered the game starting 11/4 I can use the Prime NOW app and have it delivered an extra day early along with a exclusive steelbook.

I'm thinking of doing that but wonder if I'll lose my prime discount on my existing order. If I lose the discount then I won't do it.
