Has nobody else played episode 1 of Before the Storm yet? I feel like I should open a new thread for that one, even though I don't really expect that anyone would play that one without having played LiS.

I've played through the first episode and really liked it. It's definitely different, but the overall feel of the game is really similar. I do miss getting to endlessly replay conversations until they go in a way that seems at the time to be perfect.

Oh yeah, I played it. My wife did, too. It was really good, but the different voice for Chloe is still a bit distracting. I'm not sure, but I felt like it was impossible to lose the "talk back" parts. Still... good stuff. I don't think people need to play the first game to enjoy this, but it definitely changes the way you understand some of the story and relationships, knowing where it all leads...

I think we're just good. I did read on Reddit a few accounts of people failing the talk back challenges, but you're right - I didn't have any problem with them either.

This is probably just me, but I thought Chloe looked too much like Max. I'm sure it's just the hair or something. I didn't actually go back to compare.

The only time I goofed up a challenge was the one with the Principal. For whatever reason I didn't realize there was a timer so I didn't answer in time.

Anyway, I also liked the episode, and liked that it was longer than I expected. I think it took me a little over 3 hours to finish.

I actually didn't have any issue with the new voice for Chloe.

Edit: With the SAG-AFTRA strike appearing to be over, perhaps when the bonus episode comes out, they'll be able to use the original Max voice actor.

That's quicker than expected. Their targeted release cadence was 8-10 weeks between episodes.

Played Episode 2 last night. Loved it, and it was even longer than Episode 1. I think my play time clocked in around 3.5 hours.

There were a couple of tough decisions to make, ones I really had to sit and think about.

I haven't played this, but since it's a prequel, what's the worst that could possibly happen : Chloe ends up a druggie washout with a screwed-up family life and Rachel Amber ends up dead?

Caught up on this one. I'm surprised by how "sweet" the story is...in a good way. Considering the shape Chloe was in when the original started they really do have a lot of ground to cover in episode 3.

I bought the "Deluxe" version over a Black Friday sale. I didn't realize Episode 3 had come out so recently (played all three episodes over the last 3 days). So I guess all of my "Ultra Rare" trophies for Episode 3 aren't going to stay that impressive for very long

I liked it for what it was. A lower key, shorter story ... with characters and game play that it was nice to come back to. Not as good or as powerful as the epic original, but it wasn't meant to be (and I don't think players will be expecting that). Obviously they couldn't do the interesting rewind feature again, and "Backtalk" didn't seem to be a big part of the game play (if you failed, it seemed like you ended up in pretty much the same place as if you passed).

I never even noticed the difference in voice actress for Chloe. Chloe does seem more Max-like in this. But I think that's the point ... we see her evolution into the more bad-ass Chloe (which comes across most in Episode 3).

Chloe and Rachel seemed to go from strangers to besties awfully fast. Then again, I am not, nor have I ever been, a teenage girl. So maybe that's how those things work

I love Chloe's chemistry "help" to Victoria Chase! Victoria should've known better than to ask the stoner for homework work

A quibble I had with the plot of the third episode:

So it sounds like the bonus Max episode drops in early 2018. I guess it's not bad to wait when the main story has been finished (I'm assuming the bonus episode will be standalone).

I just coincidentally noticed the 3rd episode being available last night. I guess I'd forgotten there were only 3 total. Looking forward to finishing this one up (and maybe playing through again, since it was a bit short).

There were some epic plot holes in that third episode. And that after credits scene was brutal. Still, loved it and can't wait for the bonus episode.
