Finished Episode 1 last night. Pretty good, nothing amazing and more teenage drama then I expected and a little slow, but it picked up towards the end. I just like that it's more interactive then the Telltale Games, and it seems like there's a lot more choices then those games. From the posts here it sounds like Episode 2 is when it gets interesting, so looking forward to continuing.

The teenage drama is present throughout, but the game tackles some heavy stuff.

Re: Life is Strange (5 eps on 360,XO,PS3,PS4,PC) - Time Lords and hipsters, apply wit

Finished episode 2.

Spoiler:
The Kate stuff was interesting to see, and it was nice to see "real" consequences and decision making having a big effect in the game. Not only on that, but other things like ratting out Nathan or what you tell David. I was able to save Kate, but definitely one of those times where it would be interesting to fail. Still a few too many moments just wandering around and not really doing much, and I kind of wish they would address the "maybe the bloody noses are because of using my powers" thing which seems all to obvious.

Anyway, now for Episode 3. Enjoying the series... I don't think it knocks it out of the park story wise the way the Telltale Games do, but I am enjoying the interactivity and the story is interesting enough to really want to see how it plays out.

Sorry Questyen... finished Episode 3 tonight. This one felt a little slow through most of it, but the end was killer.

Spoiler:
Total Butterfly Effect type of thing going on... curious to see how it plays out. I thought something crazy might have happened, but totally didn't expect to see Chloe like that. Better try again!

Re: Life is Strange (5 eps on 360,XO,PS3,PS4,PC) - Time Lords and hipsters, apply wit

What I did love about #3 was that there were subtle hints about what might happen, but only when you already know about it.
Spoiler:

Chloe wants to take the disability fund money.
Her reckless driving habits, throughout the game, really.
After you save her dad (there's no other option for that one, in case you were hoping to try again) you see some polaroids disappear, but some don't. Of the ones that don't, there's one with Chloe holding the keys to her new truck. We can assume that her bad driving caused her to be in the condition she's in.

Overall, I didn't love #3 as much as #1 and #2, but that ending was indeed a shocker.

But more importantly, fumanstan,
Spoiler:
Did you let Lisa (the plant) die?
What breakfast did you choose??
Did you kiss Chloe in her bedroom???

Lisa died. Who knew watering a plant on consecutive days would kill it already?

Eggs and Bacon!

And of course I kissed Chloe, if i'm playing an 18 year old girl in a video game, i'm going to take full advantage

#1: You monster.
#2: Team Protein!
#3: When I played, I think the stats at the end showed like 95% of players did the same.

Today is apparently Rachel Amber's birthday. The developers are alluding to some type of announcement on their Twitter today.

Fuck yeah!!

I really hope
Spoiler:
Warren doesn't turn out to be one of the "bad" people. That kid is too awesome to have a shitty twist like that. But there's one point in that trailer where he looks menacing for like 1/2 a second.

Yay!

I wish you could copy your saved game to make it easier to try out alternate things. (The more permanent things obviously)

They give you three save slots, no? I have two separate games on the go.

Oh, cool. I saw the extra save slots, but I never saw the option to save to another one. I always just let it autosave.

Release times for Episode 4. As before, looks like Xbox One & PC get it tonight at a decent time. Looks like I can play it after I put my kid to bed

I'm about 1/2 way through Episode 4, and holy shit.
Spoiler:
choosing whether or not to help Chloe die? Fuck. Just... fuck. I ended up with NO, and I'm not sure how that affects the rest of the game, to be honest. I have a feeling that, regardless, you still go back and let her father die instead, but damn. Still, it's awesome that Chloe's a big fan of Blade Runner.

Dark shit, I say.

Wrapped up Episode 4. Still GOTY.

Spoiler:
I was in the majority with everything except Warren beating the heck out of Nathan. I totally allowed that to go on. And somehow I saw that ending coming.

Re: Life is Strange (5 eps on 360,XO,PS3,PS4,PC) - Time Lords and hipsters, apply wit

Episode 4 was a bit slower than the rest, IMO. It seemed take a lot longer to complete. That said...
Spoiler:
Holy shit. Is Chloe dead-dead? For real this time? She's died, like, 3 or 4 times throughout the game, depending on your choices. I have a feeling that the drunk picture with Warren is going save her.As for that ending... damn. I guessed that he might be involved somehow early on, but kind of forgot about it until Max gets poked with the needle. As soon as that happened, I knew it couldn't have just been Nathan. I was reading in the spoiler thread on NeoGAF, and someone pointed out a line from Ep 1 where Jefferson hints at his own darker side.
As for Chloe, I'm leaning towards the theory that all the supernatural stuff is happening because Max keeps trying to save her. Double-spoiler for end-of-game theory:
Spoiler:
She was meant to die in the girls restroom in Ep 1, so I think the game will end with Max reverting all the way back to that picture with the butterfly, and letting Nathan kill her.

Very few games have you this invested in the characters. Walking Dead S1 was on the same level.

For Twin Peaks fans, did anyone else notice
Spoiler:
Dr. Jacoby's name on a letter to Nathan's father?

This game is full of references, in a good way, not in a PIXELS kind of way.

I really REALLY hope that end of game theory is wrong. That being said, I could see it being 100% correct.

Yeah, it's not my ideal ending by a long shot, but all signs seem to point to that.

It doesn't change all the fucked up stuff going on with you-know-who, but maybe that's the point?

Agreed. Looks like we'll find out by the end of September. One of the many nice things about this one is how the developers are really working to have the episodes out every 8 weeks. TellTale could learn something from them.

Re: Life is Strange (5 eps on 360,XO,PS3,PS4,PC) - Time Lords and hipsters, apply wit

Finally finished Episode 4.

Spoiler:
Holy crap, didn't see that ending coming at all. Also, while they always allude to some sleazy things happening with Nathan and the dosing without outright talking about sex or rape, but it really felt like this one took it to the extreme this time with the dark room and Rachel's body. Felt like David Fincher type of stuff here.

And yeah, the choice to help kill Chloe was pretty crazy, especially since they actually show you doing it. I declined initially, but rewinded to see how that would play out.

Minor complaint, but it was a little silly and cliche how sloppy Max and Chloe are. They seem to basically leave everything they search and go through a mess rather then cover up that they were there, and going back to Rachel's body there at the end and not paying attention around them was horror movie type stuff

Game is getting pretty dark, but I'm loving it. GOTY type of stuff right here.
