Re: Borderlands 3 (9/13/2019: PC, PS4, XB1, Stadia)

What’s the skinny on final boss (any tips?, just want to finish):
Spoiler:
Tyreen?

is final boss easier, harder or bout same as:
Spoiler:
Troy?

I will say this is a pretty emotional and more substantial of a story than previous. Easier to follow. Funny, especially Typhon. And then heartbreaking. I kinda knew who kids were. It was kinda spelled out, but u do got to listen. Find all those Typhon logs. You don’t realize but it’s telling the whole tale and you don’t know till end. Nice little twist. This may not have hundreds of side missions, like first two, but the story is leagues better. I couldn’t even tell you what other 2 were about except hunt, kill, find vault. Which this is too, but def ties up the trilogy nicely.

And what was all that:
Spoiler:
To be Continued in B4 shit?

Its just random since that’s not the end, not even close since the tbc person featured is the actually end, I would assume. Don’t get that.

At this point, I just want to finish campaign, do that mayhem stuff, go back and do some sides I didn’t do, some I can redo, but I’m 45 level and I know it’s going be long way to go since I don’t think final boss will give me more than 1 level. I want to get to 50. I don’t know if that means anything or even if it’s an achievement, but didn’t come close, I don’t think in 1 & 2. Only played little of the pre-sequel. But I’d like get there to see what I can get in that gold chest. And really supe up. But want to do DOOM (2016) again before Eternal. gonna be tight the way I play...

I'm surprised you liked the story more than B2, Handsome Jack was one the greatest villains in videogames in my opinion. This story just seemed rushed to get it out in time, some of the character choices just didn't make sense. I will say I enjoyed the Atlas/Maliwan feud and the Jakobs part, but there again they ruined a character from the Pre-sequel and disregarded her entire character arch and focused on one section of her backstory to fit this story needs.

The To Be Continue in 4 part was a huge joke. You are mounting a giant fight against the enemy only to fall short, then the screen goes black and to be contiue in 4 comes up. You start to get pissed that they would end the game on a cliffhanger and will continue in 4 (you assume they mean Borderlands 4) but then the countdown of 4,3,2,1 happens

I didn't hate the story as much as I hated Troy and Tyreen, with Tyreen taking the bulk of my hatred. I highly doubt I'll ever play through the main storyline again, just so I don't have to endure her "heeeeeey superfans" bullshit. Troy was a far easier kill than Tyreen, but Tyreen was still pretty easy. Level 50 does get you a trophy, but the max level is now 53. I'll still play the DLC and timed events as they are released, but have otherwise moved on. For comparison, I played through B1 and B2 multiple times each, maxing out each character. I did the presequel maybe twice, but that was mostly due to some other game that I really wanted to play (although I can't remember which one).

I loved that story/adventure. That ending was emotional and epic. Tannis doing what she did and that whole Return of the Jedi ending was great and then a rendition of the Alicia Keys song (guess it was really her) was perfect. But, those last two bosses were the easiest in game and not very challenging. Didn’t even need second wind once. But I loved everything about this one and may go back on mayhem and do some of those slaughter rings and see where that gets me. Just loved it all.

i thought mayhem mode was supposed to give you much more experience when killing enemies. i put it on mayhem 2. i went back to Slaughterhouse 3000, killing a bunch of enemies, still haven't found the perfect weapon that works on these shielded bastards. even though i am use corrosive and ones effective against shields, but my experience meter after killing many many even after dying is barely moving. am i missing something?

If you go to the map, the top right corner will tell you the modifiers you're getting. XP/money/loot chance is all buffed, various weapons can be nerfed. I don't recall what the various levels do to each, so you'll just have add the mayhem level and check. I mostly did level 3 mayhem, aside from the slaughters. Recently, I did a build I found online that allows me to do mayhem 4, with a level 3 in the slaughters.

I found slaughters are pretty hard on mayhem levels, at least until I started really working on builds that take various pieces of equipment and abilities into account. Maybe look into the best builds for your character, see what comes up. I had to farm for a few items, which took maybe an hour total.

Which character do you use? I can link you some builds that will make soloing Slaughter Shaft / Maliwan Takedown viable on Mayhem 4. As for the Slaughters, Slaughter Shaft is by FAR the best for farming legendaries. The amount that will drop on Mayhem 4 is insane.

Builds refers to how you level your character. Based on what you want to do/how you want to play, you would want to go with different skills/abilities...etc. A build would be an example of what to shoot for based on your goal. For example, in Outer Worlds I wanted to be a stealthy character using handguns. My build had all skill points in things like Lockpick, Hack, and Handguns rather than things like heavy weapons and defense.

Re: Borderlands 3 (9/13/2019: PC, PS4, XB1, Stadia)

i dunno. even on Mayhem 1, i was literally slaughtered in Slaughterhouse 3000. no XP raise, no nothing. just death. had good weapons, good shield and health. got passed 1 wave, once. i think leveling to 50 might just be a pipe dream i let go...

I've got Moze, currently with something called a Death Blossom build. It can handle everything at level 4 aside from the final battle in the Takedown. I can blast through the whole level easily, just get ended during Wotan. Hell, I can't even beat it without mayhem engaged. I think it's more of a tactics issue though, as I generally don't employ much thought aside from run'n'gun.

OldBoy, do a search for flak+build on the googles. Some weapons and shields don't seem all that impressive until they are coupled with other things or abilities, even thins just simply stored in your backpack. Then they take on a whole new level of awesomeness. I see the Rakk Attak build mentioned a lot, but there may be something else that has popped up. The builds instructions will tell you which weapons and grenades and whatnot to use, as well as what abilities to put your skill points into. It took my Moze from being pretty good to a death-dealing badass.

Countess sucks, the best options are Scorcher Spiderant or Great Horned Skag. Unfortunately, pets are only good for enemy distraction and buffs that they give you at Mayhem 4. The damage that they inflict on M4 enemies is worthless.

Re: Borderlands 3 (9/13/2019: PC, PS4, XB1, Stadia)

you know what? i think i'm satisfied. 46 is respectable and highest i've ever leveled in a Borderlands game. would have been nice to get 50 and maybe another time. but, it was a really good game and not as frustrating as Fallen Order, which is last game i finished this year and still enjoyed as a whole. very good story to me and got me hooked again like 1 did, but not so much 2.
might want to try that Bloody Harvest. just have to find Maurice on Sanctuary. i looked once, but didn't see him. is that anything like the Ned DLC in B1 with all the zombies? that was fun and completed that. would that level me up like Moxxi DLC did did in B3?

anyway, think i'm going to jump into last DOOM again and play it out until 3/20 when Eternal comes out...

No. "One up" doesn't mean it's better. Scorcher outperforms the Countess and has a more useful perk for you (Elemental Damage: +10.0%).

Bloody Harvest was a Halloween/October event and is gone. Maliwan Takedown is an available raid

So True Vault Hunter mode is just starting new game, from beginning, but with all your stats and enemies are at or just below your level? Do you gain XP fast? And you canít get to like Sanctuary or anything, but you have your guns and stuff?

In order: yes, yes, yes, yes. Faster yes. Not until you get to that point in the story, you start with what the game gives you until you get to Sanctuary's bank.

I just finished it up and it was ok. Pretty much more of the same. I started it and was level 43 and after playing through all of it and all the sidequests I'm at level 52. I was planning on being done with Borderlands 3 but I had already purchased the deluxe edition with season pass so I figured I might as well since I had some time before Animal Crossing and Doom.

New DLC dropped today - guess it's supposed to be "Lovecraftian" in nature, with tentacles and such.
