^ thanks. i had my friend pop in with his son, they were much lower level but they provided distraction and i took him out no problem. didn't even die once. sometimes you need your friends. my friend did say the Katagawa Ball lowered in level for them since they weren't close to mine. is that typical?

I've not played it myself, but it was game breaking when first released. Going into the menu would freeze the other players game for a minute mid fire fight. I still don't think it's fixed. This is on consoles at least.

I’m back in this and still having fun. Not sure where I am, but just defeated Katagawa Jr. where he has these 3 clones. Only been to couple planets. Level 21. Have some nice weapons and great high shield # and pretty high health. Think like 1,100/800+. Still not a lot of side missions. There should have been much much more by now. Guess I completed 9/23 story missions so far...

I still donít know where all the side missions. Itís all story, with maybe 1 or 2 to sidetrack, but thatís it. I havenít seen any complaints out there about that, but I donít see them...

Re: Borderlands 3 (9/13/2019: PC, PS4, XB1, Stadia)

i just got an achievement for doing 20 side missions. i'm level 23, chapter 11 and only did 20 side? c'mon. i expected more from this game, though it still brings the fun and killing in all kinds of way will never not be fun...

Normally I wouldn’t mind, if it’s all story then fine, but Borderlands is known for its many many side quests. Which help level you up and get the skill points to use. It takes forever to get one in B3. They are so needed to build those skill trees. I’ve been playing good chunks for over a week now and have 2 skill points. It should not be so low and that’s bc there’s not enough other to do...

Something I missed with B3 is how, in previous games, you'd get a notification when you went to a new location that someone had a mission for you. Now, you have to check each map to see if you did all the missions, and then you have to go hunt them down once there. Since there are so many more locations, it can take a bit to hunt them all down. To check if you've done the missions, go to each world's map, click L3 (I think), and see how much of what you've missed. Some missions are not available until after finishing other missions.

Re: Borderlands 3 (9/13/2019: PC, PS4, XB1, Stadia)

But are we all in consensus in saying there are not close to as many side missions as previous games? Seems to focus on main missions, with a side here and there. Which is fine. It’s pretty lengthy campaign with over 20 chapters. I’m only on 12 and level 26. I guess they wanted to keep concise, but harder to level up and FL4K’s skill tree is not the best I’ve seen, but having an iradiant Spider-ant that spews acid and rarely dies is so fucking helpful. It’s like he distracts the enemies while I take out. And, I believe he’s revived me once or twice, but I think rare. But him always with you at all times is so grand. I’m liking the game a whole lot. Same formula, fine by me. Still so much fun. And I really do like you have to find what works. Like shield. I took on Warden boss and died with first shield, but I didn’t when switched and I think bc of the regen of the second shield. Uses a little brain at least. And also love how some bosses become immune to one particular bullet and you have to constantly switch weapons. That’s a cool thing, I believe was added to these boss battles...

Really do love blowin shit and bandits up. It’s not getting old and it’s the exact same formula throughout 4 games. This one is still as addictive as first...

the equipment (weapons/shields..) have some many different factors
how do u choose? do u mostly look at the item score?

Depends...early on just try to get the best...and that doesn't always mean loading a "Purple" just because of it's color. I've used Green ones plenty...because the higher the rarity, the more stats...which is good sometimes...but sometimes there's also negative stats. Like say a Shotgun might have great damage but hen you see it takes "Four per shot". Or maybe a great looking pistol with great elemental damage only to see a pathetic fire rate at say 1.75...versus others at 6 to 10. And almost all the characters have something in their skill tree that has a certain damage buff for certain weapons, reload speed, ammo, etc...

Then some items just work well with certain characters and builds. Grenades come in all sorts of flavors and for one character you might look for tons of splash damage while one you need a certain elemental or one that returns health. Shields work the same way, giving a boost/buff here and there but one might work really well with one character while so-so with another....and many carry and use different load outs for mobs and then one for bosses especially weapons swapping before they jump into the arena. And lastly, you might have a setup around Solo and one around co-op play that helps the other players in damage or shield/health regen.

Re: Borderlands 3 (9/13/2019: PC, PS4, XB1, Stadia)

I look for high yield shields with quick recharge rates, some regen health and other good stuff, but quick recharge is always key.

Is Handsome Jack’s Jackpot Casino mission or whatever part of main story, since it’s listed as such or is it like one long side mission? I seem to be in this isolated Casino with some stuff to do to get to tower and I guess get loot and Moxxi ownership or whatever. But I’m not sure if this pertains to main story...

Re: Borderlands 3 (9/13/2019: PC, PS4, XB1, Stadia)

So I guess it’s a dlc, this Handsome Jack’s Casino, but why listed as main mission that you can track? I’m so off the beaten path and have gone too far to not finish and I am leveling up pretty good getting to the tower which, I think, am almost there, but just wondered why it would be listed in main missions list...

Is there another golden chest other than the one on Sanctuary?

why do some guns show damage like 35x7?
does that mean it uses 7 bullets each shot?

No, those are the number of pellets per shot. Although some weapons have damage x 2, and the text in the description will indicate that the weapon consumes 2 ammo per shot.

i always thought it was just a multiplier and that the damage was 245 in that case or something...

i think it's the spread of the bullet. like with a shotgun you can have a bullet that breaks apart like shrapnel (or many harmful steel or whatever pellets) causing more extensive damage...

ah so the damage is more like a splash damage? not all the damage goes to the guy u are targeting?

Sometimes, it usually says if does damage to enemies within a certain distance or it just obliterates one enemy...

Re: Borderlands 3 (9/13/2019: PC, PS4, XB1, Stadia)

Some modifiers also affect each bullet/shot, but not each pellet. If you have something that uses two bullets/shots, and a modifier that affects shots, each time you pull the trigger you get that effect multiplied. Outside of bugs/unintended effects, modifiers don't generally affect each pellet individually. Occasionally something gets through, and a shotgun can be massively overpowered if each pellet packs the same punch as the entire trigger pull should.

this Jack's Casino sidetrack is just so damn long! i just want to get back to story missions. and yes, i know i can discontinue, but i've come so far, i think, and just want to finish. if i would have known it was dlc, never would have started now...

The casino is a great place to get the funds for any remaining SDUs.
