Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions (360/X1/PS3/PS4/PC)
 

Since I have most of ya on my Xbox list still, I figured I'd pop back in and invite some of you to take me on in the leaderboards.

And this can be the "official" thread for the game, if that's still a thing.

It's basically Geometry Wars 2 with a level structure kind of how like GW: Galaxies was GW1 with levels.

Also, for those who never had an Xbox 360, most of GW2 is presented here as well.

What do you guys think of the game? I kind of think Resogun is taking care of my twin stick shooter needs. This looks good though. Think I'll pick it up at the first good sale price for either PS4 or XO.

It's basically more of GW2, just with set levels and star goals. There are some new game types, like Checkpoint (timed levels where each destroyed wave nets bonus seconds), Sniper (limited ammo), Rainbow (play ends when painter enemies paint the whole grid), etc. None of them are crazy awesome, but they do break up every level from being Deadline or Evolved based. Oh, and there are bosses. And a separate set of levels for co-op.

And not ONE Adventure Mode level is Waves. :mad:

Anyway, since I considered GW2 the finest game of the seventh generation, I'm okay with what they've done here. It's not a replacement, but a good supplement.

I am a little bummed that they couldn't get Stephen Cakebread or Chris Chudley back for this though.

I'm not ashamed to admit that this (and the decent BF deals) was the tipping point for me to get an X1 finally. Though I'm not sure if I'm going to play it or wait (for Santa) to give it to myself for Christmas in front of the kids even though they both know better.

Is everyone on the X1 leaderboards or are they cross-platform? Because it's 2015, y'all, there's no excuse for scores to be locked to a particular device anymore *cough* pinball *cough*

If Smarmy is playing on X1 then they are platform specific, because he's not on my leaderboard (X360).

I like this game, but the 3D grids add additional complications that I'm sort of mixed on.

Fly better! Shoot better! Or just stick with the classic modes ;)

I'm kind of bummed the update didn't bring new achievements to the mix.
