The Jim Sterling / Jimquisition Appreciation Thread
I noticed a few of you guys have posted some of his videos and are fans. The most recent Developer Meltdown is from ImminentUprising the indie devs behind the shitty Slaughtering Grounds videogame. He sums it up in this weeks Jimquisition:

I've said this before : He curses too much. I've got no problem with profanity to drive home outrage or frustration, but he uses it all the time as if he's contractually obligated to do so. And the way he over-enunciates the word "fucking", like it's the most profound word on the planet -- yuck.

I agree. After watching him for a while I didn't really get any sense of character behind the blustering performances. The substance of his videos, if there is any present at all, is usually populist opinions regurgitated back at his target audience.

I agree with what he says (how can you not), just not the way he says it. Even if it's a schtick, it's irritating.

Re: The Jim Sterling / Jimquisition Appreciation Thread
Jim announced a few days ago that he's leaving the Escapist and going independent because he doesn't like some of the corporate goings-on there and the fact that they apparently wanted him to do more ad-focused stuff. He set up crowd-funding through Patreon with a goal of $6,000 per month pledged. That happened within 24 hours, and it's now over $8,000.
I hope it works out for him. His voice is sorely needed in videogame journalism.

Is it? He kinda says what the majority of people are already thinking, just with a British accent and an unnecessary use of stock costume photos.
I mean, good on him for making a living, I'm not saying don't make a living...
