I mentioned this in my Xur report, but I did a 35 POE shortly before reset with my british buddies Joe and Nac.

I bring it up here because we had some issues during the run where our differences in running it made us butt heads. One of those decisions was about how to take out Skolas. They had been using Black Hammers to do it, and according to them had been quite successful earlier in the week.

I was willing to give it a shot, since I had used the sniper method to finish the void burn last week. We ended up failing, but we came close enough that I could see it working if everyone is hitting their shots to stagger him and keep his distance.

I'd even say if you start with the hammers, then have 2 people with GHorns finish him up while the 3rd guy heads for the mines, it could work well.

The GHorn makes things easier, but it's not impossible without it.

Crota was out in full troll mode tonight. A No Land Beyond for me and two Dragons Breath's for Ice. Appreciate the help from you guys again in trying to land me my white whale. Still have to run two each of 32 and 34 on PoE. Hopefully I can get those done in the next few nights.

Thanks for the 34 run through. It's nice to know I can make it through PoE 34 and get at least one etheric light each week. I used the one last night to upgrade by FB.

Does anyone know the full list of weapons that Variks is going to sell? maybe a Black Hammer-esque sniper rifle? Or a rocket launcher with tracking? I will probably just hold on to my weapon core for now.

The sniper looks OK, but won't have the black hammer perk. The Hammer is pretty unique, and you're not going to find anything like it. The closest you could do is to get a sniper with triple tap, which gives you one round for 3 headshots.

The Rocket Launcher does not have tracking. You'd be better off hoping for a launcher from the queen which you could reforge to get tracking.

Are there any weapons you recommend spending the core on?

I have the queen's dreamwaker rocket launcher. I will try reforging that a few times. 3 in the tube and tracking would be nice.

From what I've seen so far they are mostly inferior to Raid weapons.

The Machine Gun is pretty good. I've had it since the first week. I haven't gotten the scout, sniper or launcher as of yet.

The other primaries are OK, but without burns they're easy to pass on. The fusion and shotgun are decent, but not really any better than what you can get elsewhere.

The only thing they really have going for themselves is that they are already ascended to 365. So that is not a small thing if you want to run 34 and 35 POE. Just remember, you can get another weapon core every week, so you don't really need to save them up.

If anyone needs to run 32 or 34 PoE before the reset let me know. I can run 2 more for each. (Warlock, Warlock on 34 and Titan, Warlock on 32).

so it looks like the Skolas patch today has also changed Variks' inventory
the boots now are not all strength rolls anymore
they also have a perk against Fallen and heavy ammo perk

I would expect these only last today through the reset tomorrow

too bad I spent 1 of my 3 armor cores on a judgement chance
though I still have 2 more to obtain via the two 32 runs I mentioned I have yet to do

the perk on the machine gun also changed to damage to fallen (from shank) and I believe increased stability

I was hoping it would be a long time before we saw Omnigunt in a NF once HOW dropped. Guess I was wrong.

At least with Void Burn it should be easy. Aren't the ships the only thing that does Void damage in that strike?

3 nightfalls - at least the burn is void - should be easy to cheese the ending. Looks like I might ascend a Word of Crota

Once ascended it wrecks when void burn is active.

Yeah, NFs were super easy. WoC, Swordbreaker, Truth. And the only void is the Ogre at the Omnigul part but you usually run past him anyway.
