I might be down for the raid this weekend. If we can coordinate the day and time, then I can hopefully get away from the wife and kids for a few hours. Usually, after 8pm PST works for me, but I know that's late for our east coasters.

I had a run through the raid on Monday night with a bunch of randoms, which turned out to be really, really fun. We made it to the last area, where you have to get two relics from behind the portals, but just couldn't pull it off before people starting dropping. We'd been at it for like 3 hours or so, so I don't blame them. I think our main problem was one of our relic holders didn't realize how much damage he could do with the thing (and neither did I until later on), and the rest of us just couldn't hold back the onslaught.

Each time I get my ass kicked in there, I feel that much more prepared to go back in and do it again.

I would say Level 28 with at least two Legendary or Exotic weapons.

I also think we should coordinate having at least one Titan and one Sunbro in any VoG Raid.

You definitely still need to have all 3 areas covered. The thing is, only the praetorians can reclaim the circles (or so I've heard). So as long as you take them out as soon as they appear, it can be be done. Still, completing the raid with only 2 people takes some badass individual effort. That is truly impressive work.

Nope, I almost bit on the sniper the weekend vendor was selling, but the one I have is pretty damn good. I'll check out the store again on Friday.

The only way 2, 3 or 4 can do it is if they have tons of Raid experience, and know exactly what to do.

Best way to get materials is to make sure you're doing the Daily Heroic at one or two steps higher (giving you a guaranteed +1 or +2 materials). The Public Event is also a guaranteed material source (for your first event), and sometimes you can complete one and get a bonus one or two. Earth/Cosmodrome is a good place to do them. http://destinypublicevents.com/

I would also have a secondary character you use for, at minimum, the Public Events. You only need to be Level 7 or so for it to be useful.

I'm not a big sniper guy, and I already have two legendary sniper rifles (which are my only two legendary guns I have right now, go figure). I was hoping Xur was going to have some gloves or shoes for my Warlock today, but I guess not. I was pissed that I missed that auto rifle a couple weeks ago, but I didn't have enough strange coins to grab it.

My biggest problem with this game is the amount of grinding involved. I honestly don't have the time for it. I've been trying to get on Friday and Saturday nights to do the weekly strike, some crucible matches, and a bounty or two, but that can even be difficult to do at times. I really do enjoy the game when I'm playing it, but sometimes it seems like it's a chore to play.

This one is different. It generates ammo for itself and by extension for any other special weapon. It's also massively OP.

Honestly, it kind of breaks the PVE and allows you to solo just about anything this side of the raid, including nightfall.

I still haven't been in a group who completed the Raid so the next time one gets together and is looking I'll gladly join. Twice I've been in one and twice got stuck at the same location after one person, the one who knew the most got booted.
