That would actually be hilarious if he just complimented everything he did as amazing...

Re: NBA 2K15 -- October 7, 2014

I was playing My Career the other day and I had just defeated the Pacers in the Eastern Semis. The cutscene after the game had Paul George telling my character better luck next time. Huh? I just eliminated you.

Another bug happened when I was made a starter. The play by play guys mentioned it in three straight games (it's his first career start!) and made it seem like I had just gotten promoted.

Re: NBA 2K15 -- October 7, 2014

Initially planned on buying this game soon after its release date, so I can better compete, since I mostly just play the game on-line. Not that I'd win a lot (I don't ), but any advantage I can get would be welcome. However, the reviews have probably been the worst for this series in so many years. So now will just wait again until the BF sales to get a much better price. It may even go down sooner rather than later since it is not getting good feedback from early buyers.

Re: NBA 2K15 -- October 7, 2014

Weird that it is getting worse reviews than normal because I am quite impressed with the game this year. I have issues with it every year and always swear off buying it again but always end doing it anyways. I am aggravated that the online leagues are still shit but the gameplay itself is fantastic this year.
And playing as Cleveland is soooo fun!

The reviews i've read sound like the score hit is largely due to the online issues.

Yeah. As usual their servers suck. Forget about playing My Career when they're having issues.

Re: NBA 2K15 -- October 7, 2014

Okay, I'm on My Career mode and I'm not doing that good.

I signed a 10 day contract with the Suns and after it expired they chose to dump me. My stats were nothing to get excited about, I got around 7-8 minutes per game and around 5 PPG. I'm a 6 foot shooting guard and it's difficult for me to rebound and get steals. So yes, I was struggling.

My agent got me another 10 day deal with the Sacramento Kings. So I'm on my last legs in my current career. It seems like if you aren't having a good all around game and increase your in game grade from C to something higher, the computer will say you sucked and it looks bad on your career path.

Re: NBA 2K15 -- October 7, 2014

I always wondered what happens if you don't get picked up. Do you have to start over?

On a side note, DJariya, if you have ios you can use the MyNBA2K15 (not the game one) to get free VC every day. It's a time waste, but it's much more efficient as far as getting VC per time, and you can put it into your player.

Also, early on especially, set your quarter length much longer so you get more playing time. Later on you may want to shorten it as your player gets more minutes and you don't want to spend an hour per game, but early on you get pulled so quickly every little bit helps.

Also, is it basically impossible to get Rookie of the Year? Because you get picked up so late, it's impossible to make the all star game or all rookie game, but I don't think I even have enough games to have eligibility for rookie of the year. And I've played every game since I've been picked up, and while I started slow I'm the top rookie in most stat categories and have been player of the week and month for the conference.

Re: NBA 2K15 -- October 7, 2014

Ended my first myplayer season, and I wasn't eligible for any of the awards, not even rookie of the year or any of the all rookie teams.

I also made a mistake when choosing my free-agent destination (as an unsigned free agent, they only sign you up for your first year). I chose Indiana, Milwaukee, and Pelicans as desired destinations, the Bucks being the team that signed me my first year. Brandon Knight gives me some garbage about coming back home and knowing the system. Several players come to recruit me, including a Laker, so I tell him that I'm interested... none of them even make an offer. At the end of the day, those three, as well as the 76ers (offering three years instead of the usual 2), Heat, and one other team come knocking... even though Indiana's offer is only a little below the Bucks, I sign with the home team thinking I'll get some kind of homecoming celebration and keep my 100% teammate trust rating.

Nope. The coach changes (this seems scripted), no mention of staying home and my teammate score is back to 70%. Meanwhile, I look through the stats and see that Indiana won the championship last year. At least Jabari Parker got a stat increase, and the team is relatively young and bad enough to spend the 9th pick on an SG, but ugh I'll have to play with this team for another season or so, or force a trade...

FYI, currently on sale at Amazon for $29.99. it's a 1 day sale I believe. So if you were waiting for a price drop, now is the time.

BTW, I just got signed for a full season by the Sacramento Kings for My Career. The daily free VC points that you get linking your account to your IOS or Android device really help with player upgrades.

Isaiah Austin, the former Baylor Center, who had to retire because of a heart condition, was included in the newest roster update. You can sign him as a free agent.

Very cool gesture by the folks at 2K Sports

Re: NBA 2K15 -- October 7, 2014

Ok, so recently I been thinking of picking up this up.I have a ps4, but definitely a noob with nba/nfl games. Been playing mostly racing games sports wise. However since becoming a dad, I've really been out of the loop in basketball the past few years. Players, teams etc. How's the learning curve?

So if I do pick this up. I am primary interested in playing classic teams, like the 86 Celtics, or 87 Lakers and so on. Is it possible to build an entire season mainly using only classic teams? I read about myteam packs. Not sure how that works exactly.

As someone who grew up playing Lakers vs Celtics and the like, this game has a HUGE learning curve.mso much so that I was nothing but frustrated and wouldn't play it if it was free

The selling point of the game is being able to create yourself and participate in the "My Career" mode. There is also a My GM mode where you are running the team, but not actually playing.

Of course, there are the standard modes like single game, season and playoffs etc.

yeah so if you're totally out of the loop with the NBA and only care about classic teams, this isn't really the game for that, especially for $60.

Really? I don't think the game is that hard. I don't do any of the fancy moves. The PS4 controls aren't that hard to figure out. There is a practice mode as well to help you master the controls. Sounds like you struggle with patience with these newer sports games.

Lakers vs Celtics and the NBA playoffs. Man i loved that game. Yeah i had a feeling about the huge learning curve. If i can play alot of classic teams. Then i won't mind. But i want to be able to insert classic teams in a season.

Re: NBA 2K15 -- October 7, 2014

The game does have a steep learning curve, especially if you haven't played in a few years. What was your last NBA game? The main differences in the last few years is that you basically need to run pick and rolls to get open; even on the easiest settings, it's not very arcadey and if you're not careful, you'll be committing turnovers like crazy. If you do get the game, absolutely watch the little videos that explain the game (I think it's called like NBA university or something). You won't remember all the moves but at least you'll get the basics of the shotstick.

If you have a last gen system, a few years ago they had a version with Magic/Bird on the cover that was more focused on classic teams (and before that, a Jordan focused one). I haven't really played around with all the modes (I spend most of my time on Myplayer) but it's definitely not the focus this year.

It'll be like 30 bucks (or close) soon enough, though.

Re: NBA 2K15 -- October 7, 2014

FYI, for anyone who is looking for a potential deal on this game

BIG NEWS – This could be the largest NBA 2K15 sale ever…
Tune in to Sunday's nationally televised game of the Houston Rockets at Washington Wizards. For every point combined that NBA All-Stars James Harden AND John Wall score, $1 will be taken off ‪#‎NBA2K15‬ from the regular price of $59.99 at Amazon.com on Monday at noon PM PST for 12 hours while supplies last (subject to terms and conditions here- https://www.2k.com/nba2k15/showdownsale.html). For instance, if Harden scores 20 points and Wall scores 25, NBA 2K15 will discounted $45 and be available for $14.99 (minimum price is $9.99).
Tune in Sunday morning and send both James Harden (http://twitter.com/jharden13) & John Wall (http://twitter.com/JohnWall) a kind word of encouragement on Twitter.

Re: NBA 2K15 -- October 7, 2014

That's a solid deal right there, thank you for the heads up. Both guys are capable of putting up 30 plus points, too, so this could be a good discount.

I haven't bought an NBA2K for a few years, this might be the reason to get my first current gen installment.

Re: NBA 2K15 -- October 7, 2014

This is the third time they tried this promotion. Last week it was whoever scored more, wall vs curry, they'd take the points off the 60 price, and it didn't even get lower than amazon's daily price. Now, starting from 40 and combining their points, there's a chance.
