Simple Atmospheric Horror PC Game like Slenderman recommendations?
Hey all,
I recently tried the Slenderman: Rise Again game on my Android Device, and I was absolutely astounded by the atmosphere that it created on such a simple premise, yet it made me jump like a 5 year old when the Slenderdude crept up on me.
Soo.... I naturally went to the next level and tried to find a version for the PC - something with better graphics and overall better experience. I found a lot of results... However, they all seem to go beyond the basics and turn it into a long, involved PC game with a mission, clues, items, etc....
I would LOVE for there to be something that is just me running around a forest with something that will eventually pop-out... Am I even making sense?
Here's a video of the gameplay (not my video) - jump toward the end to the simple, yet effective scare that I am talking about.
I know there are other atmospheric games (fatal frame, etc) but the simpler the better.... Audio is also a crucial factor...
Does anyone have any favorites that they'd like to share or recommend?
Thanks a ton in advance,
Matt!

You could check out "Sir, You Are Being Hunted". It's not really a horror game, but basically you are moving around this creepy island location being hunted by robots, so it's pretty tense. Opinions are mixed but I enjoy it, although there isn't a lot of content. But you did say simple, this is a pretty simple game that you can just jump into.
"The Forest" is another one that is supposed to be excellent, and that is more horror focused. You need to survive in a forest inhabited by cannibals and mutants who occasionally attack you. Still Early Access but apparently quite good in its current state. Graphics and art in this one are superb as well.

Thank you!
I'll Give those a shot. Also, I love the fact that in Slenderman, you don't have any weapons and can't fight..... You just run!
Thanks again,
Matt!

I haven't played it, but "Outlast" is supposed to be one of the scariest games ever created from what i have read about it. You have no weapons, you can only run and hide.
