Somewhere in the middle. I didn't mind paying $500 for the bundle. I don't love everything about it, but I don't regret owning it at all... despite the fact that I don't currently have it KINECTed. Extension cable, dammit!!

Pretty much, yes. It's fine for voice-command system UI stuff and awesome for Skype, but otherwise? I'm waiting on D4* to really show if Kinect 2.0 is necessary for games.

*D4 has a Kinect mode and Controller mode. The question for me is more about whether or not Kinect proves to be as good or better at the "experience" for this particular game.

If I'd thought there was a realistic chance they'd drop it this year, I would've waited instead of picking up the Xbone back in February. I'm not overly angry or upset, but it's fairly irritating that they basically gave the majority of owners the bird with this flip-flop. "Sorry you've got a $100 camera/microphone you're never going to use now that you don't have to. Thanks for the cash!"

And to the post saying "People who have one and don't want it can now sell it." Yeah, I'm sure there's a blistering market for something every current Xbone owner has and most don't want. Lightly used ones will probably be available for $15 or less for quite a while.

B. Big time. I hate the stupid thing that I can't even use without an extension cord that doesn't exist. I keep it plugged into my media closet. I've used it twice as a bar code scanner for included DLC and once yelled "Xbox Record That" loud enough to record a clip. I prefer pressing the Share button on a DS4 - much easier.
Not sure yet. I do think there's no future in motion gaming, that's for sure. I'm deeply worried about the hit Harmonix will take when their two Kinect games flop.
I guess some folks like using voice commands and it IS one distinction between the two consoles. That does feel like it might have a future - I guess there should be some functionality that most people who have a Kinect could enjoy. I'm just not one of them with my media set-up.

You could EBay the Kinect for $50 once people start buying the Kinect-less version, easy. Someone out there wants one, and if you can sell it cheaper than what it costs separately at retail, someone will grab it up.
