Re: Bloodborne - PS4 (Sony Japan + From + Miyazaki)
Someone is streaming this on PS4 as I type this.
The game looks stunning, but the person streaming is getting killed at a record pace.
And the load time is attrocious. People in the chat say it will be fixed with a Day 1 patch. I hope so. Everytime he dies (which is happening a lot), it takes about 20 seconds to reload the game. Honestly, I'm seeing the loading screen more than I'm seeing actual gameplay. And he's still at the very beginning of the game. He only kills the first 1 or 2 enemies before he's dead himself. I hope he just really sucks at video games and it isn't as ridiculously difficult as he's making it seem.

From what I saw there is a huge Day One patch. And you're right...expect to see the screen in Black & Red Letters...You Died....a lot. The enemies for the most part are fairly quick....have you noticed almost all swing Right Handed.
I hope to get a list of just who is getting the game so some of us can tackle these together which seems you just might need help along the way. I'm still in this as it's been a long time playing something dark, eerie, gloomy that just looks this stunning.

There have been quite a few streams going for almost the entire week, which amazes me, because that is one hell of a broken street date!
I am going to be getting the game, Buzz, but, as I have usually done with Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Dark Souls II, I often play offline, because I don't like to deal with the invasions all that much. Although I might try it more in Bloodborne, since the translations of interviews claim that you can actually give passwords out now for summoning (at least for the Chalice Dungeon content).

Thanks for letting know Charon...and I above all understand and respect one's "game environment" by not just barging in without given the green light or ok. it'll be interesting how they set the co-op part up in terms of invite and access.
To be honest I'm not sure how I'll do in this. I didn't play dark Souls and it's been a long time playing this type of game. I just know I like the look, the style, the play, the sound period. I might suck big time and die a lot but so what.

Oh, well, I didn't mean barging in as an ally, no problems there! It's just that, since Demon's Souls, you always have a chance to be invaded by an enemy phantom, which is a real, live player coming into your world to kill you. That's more why I played offline in the other 3 games, I just don't like it, personally.
If they make the white phantom / jolly co-op easier overall, I am all for that. But I seems like it will only be possible to do set co-op in Chalice Dungeons, unless I read wrong.
And hell yes, who cares if you die a lot. Part of the fun or draw of this series is dying, and learning from it.

Co-Op will work without PlayStation Plus right? I know Destiny was almost crippled without a PS Plus membership.
I had a membership but it expired and I am waiting for a sale before I buy it again so it certainly won't be before Bloodborne comes out.

Re: Bloodborne - PS4 (Sony Japan + From + Miyazaki)
I thought PS+ was required for the online component of every game on PS4. You can still play the games, but anything involving multiplayer requires a Plus membership. I thought it's been that way since launch.

Re: Bloodborne - PS4 (Sony Japan + From + Miyazaki)
Well if that is the case I guess I will be getting Plus too. I loves the online features of Dark Souls. I will get the game first and test it out.
EDIT: Found this...guess a quick google search before posting would have served me well. Looks like you can't even get ghosts and soapstone messages without plus.
Certain online elements require a PS PLUS subscription in order to enjoy:
Online Feature - PS Plus Required
Online Multiplayer - YES
Asynchronous Online Features - YES
Sharing Generated Chalice Dungeons - YES
Installing Game Update - NO
Installing Chalice Dungeon Update Data - NO

I spotted some GIFS over at /V/ at first I thought it was clips from Dark Souls and then realized it was Bloodborne. They really did capture the look and style of a Souls game.

Time is almost here and closer for those who did the Digital version. Over at NeoGaf there are some over in Europe who already have it. So far still no reviews up. But here is a link to a excellent wiki page that will help out.

Bloodborne is every bit a psychological horror game as it is one about swinging swords and leveling up, perhaps one of the most effective horror experiences you could hope to have. It’s beautifully bleak, a sublime exercise in unyielding mental oppression. It’s a game so stressful it makes my neck hurt, and so brutal in its punishments that every success brings unmatched elation. Taking the very best of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, From Software has produced a near perfect example of its uniquely malevolent gameplay, all while amping up the brutality to stunning degrees.

Why is it that all the PS4 exclusives I'm interested in get middling reviews yet the only one I'm not at all interested in gets uniformly ecstatic GOTY reviews?

Re: Bloodborne - PS4 (Sony Japan + From + Miyazaki)
I am actually shocked that it is getting such great reviews. I thought that the return to PlayStation exclusive territory (if you consider Demon's Souls as an exclusive) would cause backlash.
Only about 30 minutes, and I can go get in line!
