Re: Halo 5: Guardians (XB1, Fall 2015)

A pair of new rides have recently been added to Forza Motorsport 6 to celebrate the launch of Halo 5: Guardians for Xbox One. Designed as part of a collaboration between 343 Industries and Turn 10, there's a Spartan Locke 2015 Mustang GT and Master Chief 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R.

Both are available at no additional cost, although the Master Chief 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R is available only to Forza Motorsport 6 VIP members. The Spartan Locke 2015 Mustang GT will be available to all players for free, which is nice.

You'll find the new Halo 5: Guardians Ford muscle cars tucked away for download in Forza Motorsport 6's message centre. Go get 'em, if you haven't already.

HALO 5: GUARDIANS SEES BIGGEST LAUNCH IN FRANCHISE HISTORY

Halo 5: Guardians is now the fastest-selling Xbox One exclusive, making Halo history with the biggest launch the franchise has ever seen.

According to Microsoft's announcement, 343 Industries' new shooter has raked in over $400 million worldwide across Halo 5 game and hardware sales, elevating lifetime earnings for the entire series to over $5 billion. Additionally, Guardians was Xbox One's most played game during its opening week, with the highest attach rate of any first-party title on the platform.

"The success of Halo 5: Guardians is a testament to the innovative work from the entire team at 343 Industries to bring this installment to Xbox One and the incredible community of fans who have come to love the story, characters and gameplay central to the franchise," Head of Xbox Phil Spencer said. "The game represents all the possibilities of Xbox One and has earned its place as the anchor title in the greatest holiday games lineup in Xbox history."

Over 21 million hours of Halo 5: Guardians has already been played, with 12 million of those being spent solely on its campaign. The game's new Requisition System has proven to be quite popular as well, with over 45 million REQ Packs having already been acquired.

I wonder how many it sold. Reading between the lines of that release makes it sound like the numbers are pretty bad.

Finished the campaign on Heroic last night. Overall I thought it was pretty disappointing. Only playing through about 1/3 of the game as Master Chief didn't help either. The game is very polished, but it's been missing something ever since 343 took over the franchise. I'll check out some of the multiplayer stuff next, hopefully that's a little better.

I feel like no one is talking about this game, despite it being Halo. IDK, maybe it's just me.

Dubbed "The Battle of Shadow and Light" update, Big Team Battle will see two teams of eight Spartans clash for victory. Four new maps will also come in this patch: "Deadlock," "Basin," "Guillotine" and "Recurve."
48 REQ packs will also be made available as part of the update, as a number of new armor options, weapons, vehicles and assassinations are added to the pool of REQ acquisitions. Check out the infographic below for the full list:

Re: Halo 5: Guardians (XB1, Fall 2015)

Maybe I'm crazy, but does anyone else remember anything like this ending up in the game? I get that it's an announcement trailer and all, but at that point they had to be well into the game. Just seems like it's very misleading.

So how is the multiplayer in this game? Wanted to ask as this game is on the third page while Destiny is always on the first.

Damn, if it's that good 343 must have royally fucked up the brand with Halo 4 and the Master Chief Collection. It should have far more buzz (any buzz) than it' garnered.

I was mainly just asking because I don't ever hear anything about this game and I literally completely forgot about it - I still might check it out, just surprised there isn't more discussion on it.

Re: Halo 5: Guardians (XB1, Fall 2015)

I know this is going to upset some people but....this is honestly one of the worst games I've played in quite some time.

I got very lucky that gamestop refunded me the FULL price for this garbage when I brought it back the next day.

Re: Halo 5: Guardians (XB1, Fall 2015)

That doesn't upset me at all. I thought the game was a HUGE disappointment. I haven't played it since the first week, I think. What a waste of a great (albeit over-rated) franchise

I'm almost scared to start this for fear of being disappointed. I'm slogging through 4 now. Boy is that a chore, sadly...
