Polygon says the game is about private military contractors. Which, you know, great... no one is answering the call of duty, but whatever. Ugh.

Activision has apparently trademarked the title Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The name Advanced Warfare suggests a turn-based strategy game.

Better encode of the official reveal:

With Xbox One being noted in both the Instagram teaser from earlier today and in the reveal today, it looks like the rumor of "PS3 and PS4 being the lead platform for Call of Duty" was bullshit.

Why is the video from the Xbox One? Wasn't the PS4 the dev lead?

Graphics doesn't look that great. No next-gen

Other than, I'm 100% in. Spacey, Golden Gate, killing people, etc.

I can't wait!

Marketing. Xbox always "promotes" Call of Duty.

Activision board room: "How do we top a Call of Duty in space?"
Snarky dev: "Um, add Space...y?"
Activision: "Kevin Spacey yes!"

Not sure why that would make a difference, whoever pays the most is going to be the noted platform.

Looks like they "copied" the nano-suit idea from the first GI Joe movie.

It was rumored Sony was going to be that company based upon their deal with Activision and Destiny.

Gotcha. When I see Lead I immediately think "system it was designed for originally", like those old CoDs which were built for the 360 then ported up to PC and over to PS3.

I hope they're just doing this for high end PC and porting it down to both.

Is it just me or does the Vidoe and capture model for Mr Spacey look very not the newest gen.

Unlike COD2 to Ghosts, Sledgehammer is building this specifically for PC, PS4, and XO. High Moon Studios are going to porting Sledgehammer's efforts over to the PS3 and 360. If Activision gives the okay for a Wii U version, Treyarch will be involved with that. All details should be out by Sunday.

I would not be surprised if they're still using the same modded Quake 3 engine that all past games have utilized.

I would really like to see a Vietnam game. Not many games covered that war and I think we're at a point in the medium where a serious and dark story set there would make a great game.

So: a Vietnam version of Spec Ops: The Line?

Yeah that or another older war are about the only things that would get me interested in the series again. I'm sick of the modern day war stuff. Granted they've already covered a lot of World War II and whatnot but I dunno. To me the last good entry was Call of Duty: Black Ops. I liked the story of that one and Vietnam wasn't a bad setting.
