For real? Epic.

I did it as a kid. I love beating games but I felt underwhelmed by it. I died so much. I'd love a remake.

I remember spending hours in my room creating codes on GameShark for Goldeneye 64. My best one left dead bodies on the floor after you killed them instead of allowing them to fade away. That was actually kind of cool.

I also did the Stat tracking that someone mentioned with World Series Baseball on Sega. I'd basically keep a box score of every game I played.

After playing Skyrim for over 200 hours and then getting my PS3 stolen i decided to buy a new console and start from scratch. Not really crazy or dumb...but time consuming, and well worth it.

There has been a tonne of crazy stuff i have attempted in games like Just Cause 2. That game has such long lasting appeal for just being able to mess around. Fantastic game.

Actually, just thinking about the craziest and dumbest thing it would probably be wasting so much time in my youth waiting for games to load via cassette on the Sinclair Spectrum. I recall Where Time Stood Still on the 128k Speccy taking almost 10 mins to load. These days i get pissed off if i am kept waiting 30 seconds.

Well, I was able to recreate about 75% of a Dark Souls speed run I found on Youtube. That would be the craziest.

The Dumbest would be taking on Justin Wong in MvC3U and thinking I had a chance.

not really IN a game, but I used to keep season long stats on paper when playing Hardball! on my Commodore 64.

Sadly, I had notebooks full of stats from playing "seasons" of Micro League Baseball on my Apple IIe. When baseball games came out and actually kept stats, I was in heaven.

Probably the least productive thing I ever did in a video game was back in the day I had a subscription to some computer magazine... and every month they provided a "game code program" you could enter into your Commodore 64. This "code" was about 5 pages of shit like:

(011, 535,678) (492, 888, 263) (001, 111, 221), etc, etc, etc... maybe 8000 liines of nonsense like that.

If you type one tiny fucking thing wrong, it didn't work. Well I was bound and determined to make that game work and I spent an entire weekend getting it to run. I think I had to check every line 3 times to make sure the numbers were correct. It finally worked and was the shittiest game I ever played

I spent most of my childhood "writing" games like that. The ones with the numbers actually usually had a built in error-check (I assume using a check digit, like UPC). The ones that were actual "english" code were harder to find typos. But those did actually teach you programming.

Buffing my character in Morrowind to the point where I could punch Vivec to death. Totally not needed but the lack of restrictions on buffs in that game made for some entertaining situations.

IGN did a piece on him today, it's on their front page if you are interested.

Dumbest was probably waiting hours online in Fuzion Frenzy 2 for random people in order to get multiplayer achievements.

As a kid, I mapped out which character was the best to use in each level of Super Mario 2 so at the end, all four characters were recognized as "contributor".

I GaneSharked the hell out of that game. I also made one where you could get to the island in the distance on the Dam level.

Craziest: I used to be able to beat Contra without losing a single life.

Dumbest: I tend to actually take time to close doors that I open in games. As my mother always said, "You weren't born in a barn, so close the door!"

Spent what I'm sure was hours organizing all of my extra items in Oblivion in rooms in my house: had a potion room, a sword room, a scroll room, etc.

I do this sometimes.
