That C&C remaster will be right up my alley Surprised there isn't more details with that announcement though.

Same. That and the Warcraft III remake will both be nice throwbacks.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

Welp, bought an RTX 2070 yesterday on Amazon for $485 to finally upgrade my 970. I ordered and cancelled twice debating whether it was worth it over getting an old 1080 or something instead, but caved in and decided to just get it.

I've been playing the bulk of my games on console lately other then Overwatch on PC, so time to find a few more games to play on the PC side of things.

Nice. It's getting to the point where I feel like I'd need to upgrade my whole build though rather than just a gfx card. Especially when games like DMC5 list requirements above my cpu, gfx, and ram lol.

Still just rocking a FX-8350 CPU with a R7 370 4GB graphics card and 8GB DDR3 1600 ram. Built this one on a budget in early 2016 for about $750 total.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

Yeah, you're kind of stuck CPU wise. I haven't done a full rebuilt in some time since, it's been piece meal upgrades here are there, mostly in the GPU department. I was on an old i5-2500K for the longest time until moving to a Ryzen CPU last year, but even then I still kept my hard drive and graphics card.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

I am amused at my own self for buying an expensive graphics card and the next game I actually play is Return of the Obra Dinn which is designed to look like a 1-bit Mac game.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

The Epic Games Store is live. A couple of games were announced tonight as coming to this platform. Looks like they're trying to take a bite out of Steam. With only 12% royalties compared to 30%, this could be quite attractive for a number of developers. Plus it looks like they'll be giving a game away every two weeks.

Bought Hollow Knight in the Steam sale the other week. What an addictive game. Highly recommended.

Having not played any games on a computer in years, what do you all primarily use as a controller? Do you get a compatible controller or do you use your keyboard? If keyboard, do you find it intuitive for FPS games? The movement and crouching seems like it'd be really difficult.

I use an Xbox One controller. Works great and has built in support for most games.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

Keyboard/Mouse have been and always will be superior to a controller for FPS games! Mouse look is so much more precise then using an analog stick on a controller.

That said, I also have an old 360 controller that I use for other games.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

I can't play FPS with anything other than mouse and keyboard. I have stick for fighters but I can play fighters with a keyboard. I have a 360 and steam controller for games like mark of the ninja. There are many games that are just built for controllers. I also have a wheel and flight stick. I don't use them much but I just got my vr headset so will be breaking them out soon.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

KB+M is preferred by most, I don't like sitting at a desk when I play games so I hook my laptop up to my projector and play games w/ the Xbox One Controller + Wireless Dongle. I don't do a lot of multiplayer stuff though, so it doesn't make a big difference.

Fun fact, the current generation of XB1 Controllers -- you can sync up 1 Xbox One controller via Bluetooth or up to 8 with the dongle. You can also use it via USB w/ a cable. Older Xbox One pads cannot use Bluetooth.

I also use the PS4 pad from time to time. Usually when I bust out RetroArch

Re: PC Gaming Thread

For games that I do play with a controller, I use a PS4 controller plugged in with the usb charge cord.

Using bluetooth sometimes causes issues in some games like random bugs/glitches or input lag.

I dislike when some games don't change button prompts based on controller. Most games I do use a controller with will recognize the PS4 controller and show PS button prompts, but certain games such as DmC fails to do such and thus just shows generic numbered prompts.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

Stream an hour of Ass. Creed: Odyssey, get a free copy. It's limited access blah blah blah but worth a shot.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

Well I certainly won't ever use the Epic Games Store, thanks to all the exclusives. I'm all for multiple store fronts for competition's sake but having store exclusives is pretty antithetical to the PC platform.

The latest one I've read about is the last season of The Walking Dead will only be available on Epic Games Store. If you've already purchased it in Steam you'll get the rest of the episodes, but if not the Epic store will be the only place to get it.

Eh I'll use it, but they need better exclusives. Below and Ashen both look and sound totally forgettable. I'm hearing very good things about Hades, but I'd bet that isn't going to stay exclusive forever.

Grabbed Subnautica though.

Aren't all Valve games exclusive to Steam on PC?

^Jay. You should know by now that exclusives are only OK if (platform I like) does it.
