Somewhat related question, however, since I plan to hook this up to an Atmos capable 7.2.4 receiver, I needn't be concerned with a soundcard, right? Just get Dolby Access for games with Atmos audio and simply output 7.1 through the video card's HDMI out for everything else? I'm assuming/hoping that hasn't changed (aside from needing Dolby Access) since the last time I built a PC.

That is a fantastic deal but it says it's out of stock.

To ME...Soundcards are for real audio enthusiasts to get the best audio period.....many Motherboards have excellent audio codecs built on them and provide some really good sound. The one thing to look for are the Back Panel Connections...some still have a Fiber Connection. But Audio Cards are out there to add...

I like the Corsair Line since their products are top notch...Memory, Fans, Coolers and cases. I just wish they had more of their case line as options. It's always the same case for all either White or Black.

Unless it negatively affects the thermals, or is too unwieldy to fit in my home theater (I've seen some zany case designs), I don't worry too much about the case. Heck, I'd keep the RGB off too since I'd rather my PC fade into the background.

Gorgeous (although I'd turn off the RGB entirely). I'd love to play on this beast. . Just, sadly, overpriced.

One of my two favorite YouTubers who talk about PC Gaming and Parts....had this new one on Motherboards. Straight to point and a brief history as well...and once again right....and one below iton GPU Pricing and he hits that about right as well...

Re: PC Gaming Thread

I did end up picking up a Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 7, with an RTX 3080 ti. Definitely enough for what I need it for, and was able to play on my 70" 4K TV with no issues, but I've only tested a few games so far. RDR2 was nice and smooth at the highest res. It'll be nice to be able to throw a bunch of mods on some games again.

I looked at the RTX 40xx models, but they were all basically an extra $1,000, and it just wasn't worth it to me.

Welcome to the Lenovo Legion club. I'm really happy with mine and it's not nearly as powerful as yours.

Thanks! Yeah, it seems like they've been doing a really good job with these. I never thought I'd go with a prebuilt, but these seem really nice.

this vdeo was from 4 months ago...and it's even worse now. I have about three choice with CPU, Motherboard RAM, Coolers, Power Supply...about 4-5 on Cases...however with Video Cards my head is swimming to figure out what is what, specs, new, old and the costs....mostly high...is all over the place. However I think with new and more cards out there, add that sales are down maybe some of these cards in the mix will see more price drops but you seriously can't have 2/3 of the Video Cards out there priced at $800 to $2000....there's just not enough buyers for that range.........then add some of the new games just out and coming soon are pretty much stressing some medium to high systems.

And anyone thinking on New RTX 4070.....

Re: PC Gaming Thread

AMD has announced the Ryzen Z1 SoCs for use with handheld gaming devices. It's initially going to be a timed exclusive to ASUS, first showing up in the ROG Ally

https://www.amd.com/en/processors/ryzen-z1

Seemingly in sync with that announcement, the "hands on" previews of the ASUS ROG Ally have started dropping:

This month's Humble Bundle includes Death Stranding: Director's Cut, Aliens Fireteam Elite, Rollerdrome, and Life is Strange 2 Complete among others for those interested.

So Humble Bundle is exclusively monthly/yearly now?

It's Humble Bundle Choice technically, which is their monthly bundle for like $11/mo.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

Eh, $11 for those titles is still pretty solid, and you don't have to actually subscribe.

Nice opinion pc over at Digital Trends that pretty much hits the nail on the head.....

It pains me to say, but it’s officially a bad time to be a PC gamer ....... It's a bad time to be a PC gamer, and that makes me sad | Digital Trends

Re: PC Gaming Thread

Another Corsair Vengeance review. I find it funny that he doesn't like that it's not too flashy looking, whereas that was the first pro in my book. But then I strongly dislike RGB lighting.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

I've always like Corsair products; they're pretty much too notch....However....on their Built PC's they basically have 2-3 case choices despite having at least 10 models and for the majority of these it's one model (nothing wrong but it's one model 4000D) it's Black or White...the awesome ICUE 5000T case is only for the Top Tier PC's...about half way on the benchmark tests at the 4K and cost ratio, he actually does a sales pitch for the Skytech Asure II.... Yeah, he does really seem to like Skytech. He does make their products seem like a worthwhile proposition.

Re: PC Gaming Thread

I have a skytech, bought it 3 years ago and couldn't be happier with it, especially for the price I paid for it.

This seems an interesting build for a living room / couch setup.

Glad to know, as I am leaning that way. What model did you get, if I may ask?
