I wonder if they will do a Planescape: Torment EE... I wouldn't mind playing it again.

X-Wing and Tie Fighter are making their way to GOG. Looks like other old LucasArts games will show up eventually too.

Valkyria Chronicles is being ported to PC by Sega.

And I really hope Crusader gets a remake someday.

PC backwards compatibility is really shining these days :D

  • Star Wars™: TIE Fighter Special Edition
  • Sam & Max Hit the Road
  • The Secret of Monkey Island™: Special Edition
  • Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis™

Eventually 20+ old Lucasfilm games will be released.

I've heard a rumor that Grim Fandango will be the Halloween day deal.

Any chance of them being released on Steam as well?

There's a chance, however nothing's been announced. Steam already has a few LucasArts titles:
http://store.steampowered.com/search...sher=LucasArts

GOG often does some special programming and tweaking to get older games to work on newer hardware. So some games may stay exclusive to GOG if Lucasarts doesn't have the rights to those tweaks and doesn't want to replicate it on their own. Or, GOG could have timed exclusivity to some of these titles.

Ah okay, thanks for the info.

Why would you want Steam over drm-free GOG?

Re: PC Gaming Thread

I would just because 99.9% of my games are in Steam now and keep auto-updated.

Yeah, this is the most common reason I see for people preferring Steam. Which is probably why they have something like 70% of the download market.

GOG is working on its own optional Steam-like Client to handle auto-updates and multiplayer matchmaking of their games.

I also like to keep my games located on as few services as possible... Mainly because otherwise I'll forget I even own them.

I was debating on whether I should start a thread on this since I didn't want it to be self promotion :p

My completely biased take: Yes, it's like TF2. But more characters, classes, and unique powers. As a shooter fan, I'm excited. :)

I put it here simply because it's PC-only (so far) and this forum is console-centric.

Looking forward to it, I signed up for the Beta.

I'm really looking forward to Elite: Dangerous when it comes out soon. Am cautiously optimistic about Dragon Age: Inquistion. Loved the first one, not so much for the second one.

While console centric, bigger PC titles tend to get threads. I think this qualifies as a bigger PC title.

I'm planning on buying a Saitek X52 Pro for Elite and Star Citizen. Really looking forward to both of them.

Overwatch looks pretty cool. I'm amazed they kept it under wraps until Blizzcon. I signed up for the beta. I started playing WoW again on the weekend too (they sent me a free week of wow email)

FYI, i'll see what I can do for friends and family invites if/when I can for Overwatch :)

excellent!

I liked after the cinematic trailer at blizzcon, still no one knew what it was, "its a game right? or a movie?" haha. I'm glad blizzard is going into the team FPS genre
